I have an Nighthawk X10 RS300 router and when I connect to it via the web on my computer, I see no devices. Anytime I click on a web menu choice that should show my connected devices, nothing shows. I have about 40 devices connected successfully, they just don't show in the web based interface. I know they are connected because I see all of them in the Nighthawk mobile app on my Iphone. Everything seems to work fine, no other issues other than no device visibility in the web based router computer interface. Any thoughts, suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, MikeSolved399Views0likes11CommentsCannot remove/block devices from admin web UI [RS300]
I just installed a Nighthawk RS300 wireless router. I enabled "Access Control" and I was able to put the MAC address + name in the list of allowed devices, however, with the admin web UI, I cannot remove any devices that are not already connected, and the other lists are extremely truncated. The firemware is "Router Firmware Version V1.0.5.22". I've entert 60 devices. Of those devices, 10 show as connected, only 2 show up as "allowed and not connected" and only 2 show as "blocked and not connected". There are 46 entries that are totally missing.518Views1like9CommentsNot updating dynamic DNS
I am having a very similar issue. My old setup was using a NightHawk router. This sits behind a ATT Fiber Modem set to be in pass through mode. Everything works great on the old router. Port Forwarding works great, DDNS with No-IP works great. Set up the new RS300 router. Set all the settings to be the same and nothing works. Cannot get no-ip to update correctly, show status says incorrect host name, it is not. I am not entirely sure my port forwarding is working either. I updated my firmware when I setup the RS300 so I am not sure if this is a known issue that is being work on. I have tried shutting down the RS300 multiple times to see if that would kick something into working but no luck.214Views0likes1CommentNighthawk RS100 vs RS300 - IoT devices
Hello! My goal is to have all of my IoT devices on a separate network. I've been googling and searching on this forum on whether or not nighthawk RS100 or RS300 can set up IoT devices on a separate network. So far what I've been learning is that RS100 - you can have IoT devices set up in the guest wifi network but no guarantee all IoT devices would work properly. RS300 - I've got mixed search results on whether RS300 has a separate IoT wifi network. some post/site say yes, others say no. my questions is if RS100 and RS300 both can only have IoT devices on the guest wifi network, then why should I spend more on the RS300 (I don't have faster speed and wider wifi range coverage). I would spend more on the RS300 if it has a IoT wifi network feature. Can anyone pls confirm which is which? which wifi router should I get? Thank you for your time! Greetings! We're excited to finally own a Netgear router again! Our WiFi was "flaky" for at least 13 months until we wised up to the real solution: a brand-new WiFi 7 RS300. Now we're extremely happy with all the features in here, and the Windows-friendly nature of the product. So, the question this week is whether the ReadyShare features and server(s) can be accessed from a standard Chromebook on the Stable Channel. Google ChromeOS Version 142.0.7444.181 (Official Build) (64-bit) Acer 516GE, 8GB RAM; 128GB storage; Intel CORE i5; iRISXe GPU. The Chromebook is currently plugged directly into the router via 2.5Gb Ethernet cable. The network connection is reliable and stable. We've also verified the same for all WiFi bands available. Layer 3-6 connectivity is not the issue. We've tried assorted USB 3.x thumb drives, including the current SanDisk 64GB. They were reformatted according to vFAT, in order to be compatible and recognized by the Netgear Nighthawk's ReadyShare system. ReadyShare (SMB server) can be accessed through the Google ChromeOS native Files app. It features integrations with Google Drive, MS OneDrive, and a rudimentary feature for connecting to Windows shares by name. It is unclear if browsing the network is supported. It seems that ReadyShare was working a few days ago, but I'm unsure. Now the Nighthawk itself is named "Babylon4", and its SSIDs uniformly named "Babylon4_nomap". However, the ReadyShare configuration insists on the default name, and behaves strangely when we try to change it. That's fine. We'll test with whatever name is given. ChromeOS definitely supports SMB 3.0+ and should never be attempting a 2.0 negotation. Disabled for security reasons. The "Network Neighborhood" service is enabled on \\readyshare link. Password protected. The share is enabled, and DLNA Media Server is enabled. But the widget in Files just isn't seeing any network shares; a dropdown list of none; typing in manually yields no joy. There is not currently an actual Windows system here to be used for checking on this. There's KATRINA, the Android 16 smartphone, but we're leery of 3rd-party SMB clients.269Views0likes3CommentsFix for Access Control Blocking?
I had this issue with my RS300 after firmware upgrade that seems to have broken the Access Control page. One of the symptoms is devices being shown blocked, but not on the connected devices page. What used to work on the Access Control page was to select the device and click allow, this no longer works. I found a work around, disconnect the device from the network, wait until it shows up on the previously allowed list (ya a blocked device shows up on the previously allowed list). copy the name and mac, and then remove and re-add it to the previously allowed list. Re-connect the device to the network. At least for me the device that was shown as blocked now shows as allowed. Go figure.311Views0likes4CommentsRS300 & Brother Printer
I just recently replace my old NETGEAR router for the RS300. Installation did not go very well at first. After getting my ISP involved we got everything working (TVs, Telephone, and Alarm system) but the printer has been a hassle, My Brother MFC-895DW connected right up to my SSID and inside my router login it shows up on my wireless devices. But it will not print, Shows printer is offli8ne. Worked great with my old NETGEAR router.Solved463Views0likes12CommentsOpenVPN connects to router when clients on Ethernet but not on Wifi
I am having difficulty getting OpenVPN to work to connect to my RS300 router with my Windows 11 computers. I have a Dell XPS 16 9640 and a Microsoft Surface Pro 2103 both running Windows 11 Pro. Both computers have the same issue. The router is a Netgear Nighthawk RS300 v 1.0.5.18. The client computers are running OpenVPN 2.6.14 and GUI 11.55.0.0 I want to connect to the RS300 "remote" LAN via the VPN tunnel and the internet through the local LAN at the client location. This works perfectly as long as the client computers are connected to their local LAN via a hardwired Ethernet connection. If the client computers are connected with a WI-fi connection (which works perfectly without the VPN) on the same local network, there are issues. The VPN still connects properly. The router status shows the active VPN connection is successful. File explorer shows the remote LAN devices properly. However, none of the 3 browsers I have tried can access devices on the remote LAN or access the internet. Although not a complete test, the same thing happens when trying to us a public WI-fi connection at a different location. I have tried the usual things. I run the Open VPN as administrator. I have tried changing the adapter metric, placing the various Wi-fi, Ethernet and VPN adapters in various priorities. I have disabled the firewall. There is no subnet overlap. At this point, I am out of ideas.Solved592Views0likes20Comments
