AC3000 RBR50 compatible with CAT6 cable
I understand this is older MESH system. This router has most recent firmware 2.7.5.6
For one will this network support 1GB?
Current ISP and plan is 500mbps. All works as planned.
What speeds should I see when I do a test on moble device(orbi app) compared to a wireless laptop connected using speednet.test?
If I upgrade to 1GB this system ok?
Can this systen use cat6 cable at 500 and 1GB?
For some reason when I swap from 5e to 6 (not 6a) the network buffers and degrades.
Is it easy to replace existing system ac3000 say to 770 system?

Yes, the RBR50 router has a gigabit Ethernet port and will connect to a gigabit ISP service. Because there is overhead (even with Ethernet), it is impossible to realize the full gigabit of bandwidth.
Most users report more then 920Mbps.
The RBR50 is WiFi5 (802.11ac). The highest speed most mobile devices can realize is about 800Mbps.
Yes, the RBR50 is totally compatible with Cat5e and Cat6 Ethernet cable.

For a lot of users, it is simply "plug in and go". Configure the new system with exactly the same WiFi credentials as the RBR50 (SSID/password).
There is a Community Forum dedicated to the WiFi7 product line (which includes the 770). Realizing that customers who experience zero issues are not likely to bother with joining a user forum, there is no way to determine what percentage of customers experience 'problems'. If you search the forum for the 770 product, there definitely have been "issues" for some customers.

Thanks, I now think the apple TV device , an older gen(1st gen 4k) becomes spotty and buffers when at 1GB wifi.

If the current ISP connection is 500Mbps (from the original statement above), how can the Apple TV be connected to 1G WiFi?
This Apple TV has the same WiFi capabilities as the RBR50. (802.11ac). Actual performance will depend on distance from the WiFi access point and anything "in the way". For example, people often push electronics behind the TV set, which can drastically affect WiFi performance.

the 1st gen apple tv will cap a wifi connection somewhere 500-600. Just wondering why when my isp upgrades my plan to 1gb, the apple device and streaming become spotty at best. Because of that i went back down to 500 plan.

That sounds like an issue to take up with the ISP. Maybe they did no provision the modem correctly?
What people often do when troubleshooting this sort of issue is connect a computer directly to the ISP device and attempt to reproduce the problem. Not exactly easy to do in your situation.

Hopefully getting new isp modem that will support 1GB speed. Would you recommend any of the newer mesh systems if I were to upgrade from the rbr50 ac3000? If I look at devices , 130 devices but what see 40 that are online. laptops, tvs, cameras, ps5 nothing crazy. house is single floor, sq2500. any recommendations is appreciated.

For that size of home, a router unit and just one RBS would be needed. Give the RBKE962 a review.
