MH7150-100EUS (M7) – Has anyone successfully activated a carrier eSIM? (Plus Poland / Europe)
Hello everyone,
I am trying to activate a Plus Poland (Plus na Kartę) eSIM on my NETGEAR Nighthawk M7 (MH7150-100EUS).
Router information
- Model: MH7150-100EUS
- Software Version: 2.12
- Purchased in Poland
What happens
- The QR code is recognized correctly.
- The eSIM profile starts downloading.
- The installation reaches the final step ("Finishing").
- The router then displays Error Code: 1 and the eSIM is not installed.
The eSIM profile is brand new and has never been activated on any other device.
I have already:
- restarted the router,
- confirmed that the router has Internet access,
- checked for firmware updates (none available).
I have also opened a support case with NETGEAR.
My questions:
- Has anyone successfully activated a carrier-issued eSIM (not a NETGEAR marketplace eSIM) on the MH7150?
- If yes:
- Which mobile operator?
- Which country?
- Which firmware version?
- Has anyone successfully used Plus Poland, Orange Poland, Play or T-Mobile Poland eSIM on this router?
- Does anyone know what Error Code 1 at the "Finishing" stage actually means?
I have found a few discussions where users experienced similar eSIM activation issues, but I have not yet found any confirmed successful activation with a Polish carrier.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I have a similar issue in France with Lebara.fr. It is impossible to activate the card because Lebara sends an SMS after the card is initialized to complete the process, but the message is never received on the M7's end (nothing shows in the web interface). Lebara is not very helpful in finding solutions either.
In the end, I used the Nomad eSIM (the Nomad app on iPhone), and it works well. But it is not as cheap as Lebara. I am also using firmware 2.12. Overall, I've found eSIM activation to be hit-or-miss, which is a shame because I bought the M7 for eSIM support.

Thank you for sharing your experience.
Out of curiosity, do you know which SM-DP+ server your Lebara eSIM uses?
It can be decoded by AI from QR code, if it's not written directly, when carrier provide eSIM.

Update (after NETGEAR Support recommendations):
I would like to share an update in case it helps other MH7150 users.
Following NETGEAR Support recommendations, I performed:
- Full factory reset
- Fresh router configuration (no backup restored)
- New carrier-issued eSIM generated by Plus Poland
- Internet connectivity confirmed
- Latest available firmware (2.12)
- OTA reports no newer firmware available
The behaviour remains reproducible.
The router:
- successfully reads the QR code,
- contacts the SM-DP+ server,
- starts downloading the eSIM profile,
- reaches the final installation stage,
- then fails.
Originally the router reported Error Code 1.
After generating a completely new eSIM profile from the carrier and repeating the test after the factory reset, the router now reports Error Code 15.
Both eSIM QR codes use the same SM-DP+ server:

NETGEAR Support has been informed and I have requested escalation to the firmware/eSIM engineering team.
If anyone has successfully activated a carrier-issued eSIM (not NETGEAR Marketplace eSIM) on the MH7150, I would really appreciate knowing:
- firmware version
- country
- mobile operator
- whether activation was done via QR code
Thank you.
Even a confirmation that a carrier-issued eSIM works on your MH7150 would be very valuable.

Update
I have some important new findings.
After further testing:
✅ Orange Flex eSIM installs and activates successfully on the same MH7150 (firmware 2.12).
✅ The Orange Flex eSIM remains fully functional after reboot.
✅ The same Plus Poland eSIM profile installs and works correctly on a Xiaomi smartphone.
❌ Plus Poland eSIM still fails only on the MH7150 with Error Code 15 during the final installation stage.
This suggests that:
the MH7150 eSIM functionality is operational,
the Plus eSIM profile itself is valid,
the issue appears to be specific to the interoperability between the MH7150 firmware and Plus Poland eSIM profiles.
NETGEAR Support has now escalated my case to the Level 2 team.
If anyone has successfully used a Plus Poland eSIM on the MH7150, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Update – additional interoperability test results
After further troubleshooting, I have some new findings that may help identify the issue.
Test results
Device / eSIM / Result
MH7150 (FW 2.12) / Plus Poland / ❌ Fails during installation (Error 0 / 1 / 15)
MH7150 (FW 2.12) / Orange Flex / ✅ Successfully installs and works normally
Xiaomi smartphone / Same Plus Poland eSIM / ✅ Successfully installs and works
Additional observations:
Orange Flex eSIM remains operational after reboot.
Plus Poland eSIM consistently fails only on the MH7150.
After a fresh router reboot, the first installation attempt usually ends with Error Code 0.
Subsequent attempts without reboot return Error Code 1 or Error Code 15.
This behaviour is reproducible.
NETGEAR L2 Support has now requested an Instabug report, which has already been submitted together with a screen recording captured immediately after reproducing the issue.
At this point, the evidence suggests that this is not a general eSIM problem, but a possible interoperability issue between the MH7150 firmware and Plus Poland eSIM profiles.
Has anyone successfully activated a Plus Poland eSIM on the MH7150 (or any other carrier using the same provisioning platform -
SM-DP+ server: pkt.prod.ondemandconnectivity.com)?
