Connecting XS728T and M5300-28G_case # 25861705

Hello,

 

We have an M5300-28G and an XS728T. On the 5300, ports 25 and 26 (RJ-45) are bonded. On the 728, ports 1 and 2 are bonded as LAG1, ports 3 and 4 are bonded as LAG2 and ports 23 and 24 are bonded as LAG3.

 

On LAG1 is server1, on LAG2 is server2 and LAG3 should be the 5300. The 5300 is connected to a firewall that runs DHCP. When I connected server1, server2 and the 5300, there was no connection and no internet. Any other systems connected to the 728 were also out of luck.

 

Currently, server1 is connected to the 5300 via the bonded ports and all is well. The 728 is new to allow quicker file transfers between server1 and server2.

 

Are there any other settings I need to look at or configure on the 728 and/or the 5300?

    Hi j-at-tmc,

     

    Kindly answer the questions below:

     

    a. What is the current firmware version of the XS728T and M5300-28G?

    b. Does the LAG status says "Up" on all of the LAGs you have configured?

    c. Does servers 1 and 2 gets a valid IP Address from the firewall?  If yes, try to ping the IP address of the firewall and check if can get replies.

    d. Have you tried rebooting the switches then check if you will be able to get internet connection?

     

    It appears that you have already contacted NETGEAR Support and opened a case regarding your concern.  If ever you have been given troubleshooting steps by the support expert, kindly follow them.  Also, you may post here on what has been done so far on your case and the current status of it.
