GSM7248v2 - Netwgear Manager not finding switch and cannot access GUI

Good morning,

I have several of these switched which I have no issues with but one is proving to be a real pain.

Basically, yesterday I needed to confiure Mirroring on one of its ports but when trying to access the GUI I was getting the 'This webpage cannot be displayed message.  I then tried accessing the Netgear NM software to see if that discovers the device but it didn't.

I get no responce from ping.

At 11pm last night I physically powered off the switch for 10 minutes hoping that it just got a bit buggy but nothing has changes since firing it back up.

So as it stands now, I have a switch in quite a crucial part of the network that I cannot access.

Anyone got any ideas?

  • Hi there,

I managed to get hold of a serial to usb adapter and and accessed the CLI interface.  For some reason the IP had changed from 192.168.0.151 to a 169 address.  I ran ezconfig and reconfigured the IP address etc and can now access it.

    Many thanks

    Hi Bodminman,

    Welcome to the community! :)

    Kindly try the steps below:

    1. Disconnect the GSM7248v2 switch from the existing network.

    2. Connect a PC directly to a LAN port to it.  Then, assign a static IP address to the PC that is within the IP address range of the  GSM7248v2 switch.

    3. Check if you can ping the IP Address of the GSM7248v2 switch.  If ever you are able to get replies, try to access its web-GUI.

    Kindly answer the questions below:

    a. What is the behavior of the LED lights of the GSM7248v2 switch?

    b. Were you able to get replies and access the web-GUI of the GSM7248v2 switch after doing the steps above?

    Regards,
