M4100-26G Gateway issues

Hi guys,

It is not really a problem but some of "\is it possible\" question

Let me explain, (Also, i'm sorry for my english as my mothertung is french)

1- I have a Standard router connected to switch port 1 (Vlan1) (Read not supporting vlan)

Switch port 1 IP adress: 192.168.50.112 (For testing but will change)

Gateway and DNS :192.168.50.1 (And also my Standard router Lan IP Adress)

My Vlan2

IP: 192.168.254.1 / 24

DHCP server (from the switch dhcp pool)

Gateway/DNS: 192.168.50.1

Using static route on the standard router for getting outside

My question is:

Is there a way that i can use the ip adress 192.168.254.1 as a gateway adress and DNS server for my vlan2 or I will always have to use 192.168.50.1?

If i can do that, how can I proceed?

Thank you

Best regards,

Jean-Marc

  • Oups im sorry.

My gateway work using the same subnet as my vlan.

It's my DNS server that i would like to use vlan2 gateway and transfert the request to 192.168.50.1 but remains 192.168.254.1 in my dhcp..

    thank you
