M4100 manage switch series: Java-free WebUI? SSH cipher cupport?
I'm starting to look to replace some 24-port managed switches.
The NetGear M4100 series seems to best fit my needs atm.
Two questions I have not yet found an answer to:
(1) Is the admin/monitoring WebUI Java-free? I'd rather have *no* dependencies on Java anywhere near my admin stack.
(2) What ciphers does the switch's SSH-able admin console support? all TLSv1.2? Looking to current/eventual TLSv1.3 cipher support -- Is the SSH server upgradeable -- and is it upgraded with any regularity by NetGear?

Hi PGNd,
Welcome to the community! :)
The web-GUI of the M4100 switch series is not Java free. As per page 23-24 of the M4100 user manual here, the System Information page on the web-GUI shows the Supported Java Plug-in Version. Also, the Device View page on the web-GUI is a Java applet that displays the ports on the switch (read pages 16-17 of the M4100 user manual).
As per pages 28 & 30 of the M4100 series data sheet here, it says it supports TLS v1.0. I will need to inquire about your 2nd question to the higher tier NETGEAR Support and I will post here as soon as I get a feedback.

PGNd,
I apologize for the late response. I just got a feedback from the higher tier of NETGEAR Support with regard to your second question.
Support for newer versions of TLS would be built into firmware releases as and when it is necessary as per the higher tier of NETGEAR Support.
