M4350 - How do I disable auto vlan 1 on a port?

When I set a port in general mode:

interface 1/0/10
description "A general mode config port"
vlan pvid 10
vlan participation auto 1
vlan participation include 10
exit

I get "vlan participation auto 1" added to the port and can't figure out a way to disable it.

  • You can not really stop VLAN 1 from showing up on these switches. It is always there as the default. The trick is to make sure VLAN 1 is not tagged or untagged on the port so traffic does not leak. I usually just leave it present but remove any untagged assignment. Did you try setting the port mode to trunk instead of general and then exclude VLAN 1?
