Memory leak M4300 12.0.19.21
Hello We upgraded to 12.0.19.21 in hope that if fixes random crashes of our M4300 stacks, we now observer memory leak in SCRIPT process. We took output of "show process memory" in hourly intervals on friday and extra output on Monday morning Time SCRIPT CurrentAllocated Δ from baseline 11:15 4,527,712 baseline 12:15 4,539,920 +12,208 13:15 4,553,808 +26,096 14:30 4,571,840 +44,128 15:20 4,582,144 +54,432 3 days later 10:15 5,480,944 +953,232 There is slow leak and no memory is Freed. Is there a way to restart/disable this single process to stop switches from crashing eventually? RegardsM4250 Multicast Troubles
Hey all, I'm having toubles with multicast (I think) between a Cisco SG350 and a network of Netgear 4250 AVline switches. The netgear switches are setup in a star config with the Cisco joining the "core" netgear. All seems to work however I'm having issues with a lighting node that requires multicast. The node is doing weird things so I am try to force send a specific multicast address to it. I believe everything should be configured properly. Some switches it seems to work but others not (configured the same I believe just a different number of ports). I'm using MAC filtering under traffic control for this. The second issue I'm having (could be related) is I can't find how to completely disable the IGMP querier on the netgear switches for a specific VLAN. I am using the Cisco as the Querier but the netgears keep electing themselves even with election participte disabled on all. Most of the networking I know is self taught so could easily be wrong. Hello, I am currently working on an AV system where I have a Crestron CEN-SWPOE-5AC (5-port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch), and I am planning to replace it with a NETGEAR AV Line M4250-26G4F. My goal is for the NETGEAR switch to behave the same as the Crestron—essentially plug-and-play, operating like an unmanaged switch with no special configuration. The main switch in the building is a Cisco switch that acts as the DHCP server. With the Crestron switch, my devices receive valid IP addresses in the range of 10.103.19.x (for example, 10.103.19.7 and 10.103.19.23). However, when I connect the NETGEAR switch, the devices are instead receiving 169.254.x.x addresses. What I am trying to achieve is for the NETGEAR switch to pass DHCP correctly so that my devices receive the same type of IP addresses as they do when connected through the Crestron switch. Could you please advise what configuration is required on the NETGEAR switch to make it behave like an unmanaged switch and allow proper DHCP assignment from the main Cisco switch? Dear All! I tried to start to monitor my netgear switches, and on the server i choosed the built in netgate template. Works fine expected two things, the psu and the fan recognize is false, found a few threads about this but no solution. At mapping i see this: The switch default state is two, so thats noot good, and if i try to snmpwalk th oid i get only 1 and 2 for value if im doing it good. The fan state is fan 0: 1.3.6.1.4.1.4526.10.43.1.6.1.3.1.0 and gets 2 what is fault in the value, but cannot figure out what is the correct value. Now to solve the problem in the mapping i switch operational and failed value, and in the macro set the fault to 1, now its reports okay but im not sure its 100% will work when i have a fan error. PSU the problem i have is the psu0 has problem and i dont know why.M4300 24x24F Stack member failure
Hello We are having situation where 02 member of two member stack is crashing for unknown reason. We had this crash multiple times on various firmware. We do not run multicast and traffic is really low. Topology is star with redundant links to access layer switches(aruba), we use SPF+ 10G 12.0.17.16 Symptoms, high CPU reported, no obvious reason for it(eg extra traffic). When logged into GUI, CLI to investigate. CPU would go back to normal and we were unable to find out what is causing it. If stack/02 member was not rebooted at this time it would eventually crash in a way where it kept interfaces up, it would eventually fully reboot and join stack. 12.0.19.12 Same as 12.0.17.16 12.0.19.19 No spike in CPU usage. We did get some logs that look useful(attached). Crash happened out of hours with nobody in the office so traffic/usage was real low. Both members of stack were rebooted, but this did not help so right now we run on 01 only. I'll go to remote office to plug console into 02 to see if I can get anything useful. Hi, the power on start of self teset on my GSM4248UX is failing. I power on the switch and it starts with the test. All of the ports in the back of the unit light up for a few seconds. The power LED blinks a number of times then stays on red solid light. The switch is not accessible via the OBB or any of the ports. The switch was working fine for a day or tow, but then we updated the software to the latest firmware. V13.0.5.24 Then we started having this issue. I have tried the paper clip reset multiple times, but there are no indications that this is working at all. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
