Please help me upgrade the firmware on GS748Tv3 and GS724T
In a small business environment I have 6 Netgear GS series switches of various ages.
using Netgear Smart Control Center Manager version 1.1.3.2 I can connect to and update the firmware on the two newest switches.
I can not see or access the older switches with Smart Control Center 1.1.3.2
I have tried Netgear Smartwizard Discover version 2.05.05, but it does not find any of the switches.
My client machine is on the same IP segment (same DHCP server)
I have tried discovering the old switches with my client machine plugged in to each switch in turn.
I can access all of the switches (new and old) via the http / web interface.
The old switches I would like to firmware upgrade are:
GS748Tv3 firmware V3.1.4
GSM7224TP firmware V5.0.0.15
GS724T firmware V1.0.3_34
GS724T firmware V1.0.0_0429
Can anyone help me to upgrade the firmware on these old switches? Thanks in advance.

Hi ajlowe,
Welcome to the community!
Some of your swicthes have very old firmware versions, except for the GS748Tv3 which is using v3.1.4 (this is already the latest version). The GSM7224P and the GS724T's firmware are very old, you may need to upgrade it in a ladderized manner. What we can try to do for them to be detected is to perform a factory reset (on atleast one of the switches an connect directly to a PC with a SCCM). We can also use the SmartWizard Utility to uprgade the firmware, try to install it and see if it will detect the swictches. You can find the instructions on firmware upgrade using the utility on this link (see pages 19-20).
I hope this information help you locate and update the switches firmware. I'll look forward to your response.
Thanks,

Thank you for your help John.
I did a factory reset on all the switches.
I used the Smartwizard Utility you linked to.
I still can not discover any of the switches with the old firmware.
I am ignorant ofthe term SCCM. Can you please explain what that is?

Hi ajlowe,
Sorry, the SCCM is Smart Control Center Manager. There is another settings that you can check on the smart control center manager, under the adapter tab, make sure you are using the correct adapter of the PC and the IP address is correct. Please see example below:
Hope this helps, I'll look forward to your update.
Thanks,
