ProSAFE Plus Switch issue with Bonjour

Hi,

I have a stack of JGS524PE with a JGS524PE Ethernet connected switch.

Bonjour protocol works with their Mac computers on their respective switch but the Mac, Printers & NAS aren't able to broadcast across the two switches.

I just installed the switch using the default configuration (DHCP, no VLAN, no QoS, MultiCast IGMP Snooping Status enabled...).

If I connect a computer using the Ethernet cable used to connect both switch computer sees all bonjour devices. But as soon I reconnect the Ethernet cable to the switch and use another port of the switch to connect the computer, all bonjour devices attached to the other switch disappear.

My setup :

-- JGS524PE ---\ (downstair)

                           |

                           ----- Printer (Bonjour)

                           |

                           ----- NAS (Bonjour)

                           |

                           ----- Internet Router

                           |

                           \------------ uplink with ethernet ----------------- JGS524PE---\ (upstair)

                                                                                                                |

                                                                                                                ---- Computer (Bonjour client)

                                                                                                                |

                                                                                                                ---- Printer (Bonjour)

Any clue ?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi _Olivier_,

    Welcome to the community! :)

I think you will need to configure the JGS524PE switches properly.  For the recommended network setup, you may refer on the image below as reference:

    Kindly answer the questions below:

    a. What is the current firmware version of the JGS524PE switches?

    b. Is your router also a NETGEAR device?  If yes, what is the model of it?

    Regards,

      Hi DaneA,

Sorry for the delay of my answer.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I'm afraid I do not know to "set as trunk" as stated in your diagram.

From my understanding I need to flag port "23" and "24" on LAG ID 1 in the LAG config, then enable LAG ID 1. done

But then how do I set as trunk ?

      Olivier

        Hi _Olivier_,

        Sorry for the late response.

To set the ports (or LAG ID)  as trunk ports, you will just have to set it to  "T"  (T means tagged) on  the ports.  Then, click Apply.

        Regards,
