WAX220 Power Orange and Blinking Only When Plugged Into MS108EUP?

I have 2 WAX220 access points that seem to be functioning, they show connected clients.  However when either of the WAX220 units are plugged into my new MS108EUP (8 port POE switch) the power LED on the WAX220 is amber and then amber blinking, it starts amber and stay amber never goes green, as it does when powered by direct power supply.

Per the documentation, this means the WAX220 it is being flashed, no so.  For failing to connect to a DHCP server, the WAX220 are static IP assigned.  To is this a bug in the 1.0.3.5 WAX220 firmware?  Is the documentation wrong?

This is going to drive our support team nuts, very misleading.  Guess I am going to have to return the MS108EUP, since we cannot have the WAX220 reporting incorrect status, and we only acquired the MS108EUP for its POE support.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Does one WAX connected do this?

I would check with NG support on what PoE power is being provided by the switch to make sure it supports the power needed by the WAX APs. May not be getting correct power requirements.

Make sure the switch is correctly delivering IP addresses and traffic.

Does a wired PC get internet thru this switch?

Undoubted, the MS108EUP is easily able to power a WAX220 (and much more) with the by 4x 802.3bt Type 3 (max 60W each) and the 4x 802.3at (max 30 W each). Perfectly within the specs, unless esceeding the maxiumum total power allowance, which is slighty less than the theoretical possible load of 360 W, lot of headroom for most typcial applications.

      Have probably configured something strange?

On the WAX220, in System Manager -> Log the complete System Log can be downloaded, would be more meaningful than digging in the dark.

Have already Factory Reset the WAX220?

    Hi jibun-no-kage,

    Welcome to the community!

Just to add from what FURRYe38 have suggested, you may want to check the ethernet cable/s you were using and also you can set the POE port settings where the AP is connected to deliver power at 802.3at which the WAX220 would require. If the AP continues to misbehave, kindly share a snapshot of the POE port status of the switch showing the port where the said AP is connected.

    Kind regards,

    BrianL
