How to update firmware from a Mac

I have a GS724T v2 that needs a firmware update (currently V1.0.1_1104) but can't figure out how to apply the update. All the instructions I've been able to find involve a Wizard and I haven't found a Mac version of the wizard. I don't own any Windows computers so any wizards based on Windows are not an option. How can I apply the firmware update using a Mac?

  • wgstarks,

Thanks for the feedback.  The GS724Tv2 is an old model of a smart switch and we do not have a GS724Tv2 switch to check it that is why I asked you to look for the menu to perform firmware upgrade.  Since you already navigated the web-GUI of your GS724Tv2 switch and found no option to perform a firmware upgrade via its web-GUI, then I apologize for the inconvenience that you need to use a Windows computer and install the SmartWizard utility in order to upgrade the firmware of the switch.

    Hi wgstarks,

    Welcome to the community! :)

As per the GS724Tv2 user manual here, the GS724Tv2 switch has a web-GUI that is accessible using a browser.  You just need to know the IP address of it.  Open a browser like Safari or Chrome.   Then at the address bar, type the IP Address your GS724Tv2 switch then press Enter.  A window will pop-up asking you for a password.  The default password is just the word "password" without the quotation marks.  Once you are logged-in, kindly look for the menu to perform firmware upgrade.

I can login to the settings page without any trouble but I don’t see anything regarding firmware updating. What is the location/name of this item?
