Just a follow-up on this. I got a feedback from the higher tier of NETGEAR Support. The higher tier of NETGEAR Support tried to reproduce this issue in their laboratory and was unable to reproduce it. A laptop with multiple adapters (Ethernet, WiFi, Leaf) was used. It was able to change between the adapters, accept it, and upon restarting the Smart Control Center, it selects the correct adapter chosen.
As per the higher tier of NETGEAR Support, it was suggested that you ensure that you are running the application as the administrator in your PC. Right click on the Smart Control Center icon then click on 'Run as Administrator.'
If ever 'Run as Administrator' did not work, kindly check this: when changing the adapter preference, it updates a file named sccd.ini with the MAC address of the chosen adapter. Possibly this file is not being updated in your PC. Kindly locate this file (normally its in Program Files) and ensure it has permissions to be written to in order to allow the file update to the MAC address of the preferred adapter.

DaneA, I've moved on and set things up differently, not using the GS108Tv2 currently.
The smart control center is the latest one from your web site - it does not report a version in the program but the installer is SCC-Release-V1.1.3.4.exe. I'm running Win 10 /64. It will find the device on adapter 2 if adapter 1 is disabled. It will find the device on adapter 1 if the switch is on that network.
The thing it will not do is change the adapter from 1 to 2. When the adapter is changed, and you click Apply, it says it it requires restarting the program: Cancel or Accept. Cancel leaves the program running but it says "no active adapter". Accept closes the program. When it starts up again, it is on adapter 1.

Thanks for the feedback. I was not able to replicate the same scenario as yours because we do not have a computer that has 2 ethernet adapters in our laboratory. However, I used a Windows 10 64-bit laptop which has a working built-in wireless adapter and ethernet adapter. The latest version of the Smart Control Center is installed in the laptop I used. Here below are my observations:
a. If both the built-in wireless adapter and ethernet adapter are enabled on the Windows 10 64-bit laptop, the Smart Control Center would prioritize the ethernet adapter over the built-in wireless adapter.
b. If I select the built-in wireless adapter in the Smart Control Center, a message will pop-up that says "Change the interface and close the program?." After re-opening the Smart Control Center, it will still use the ethernet adapter.
c. If I disable the ethernet adapter, that is the only time that the Smart Control Center would use the built-in wireless adapter.
I will inquire your concern to the higher tier of NETGEAR Support and will post here in this forum thread as soon as I get a feedback.

DaneA, When I run smart control center it has been from an administrator login account on the system. I have not run it with explicit elevation beyond that.
I have configured the network differently for now, and the Netgear router is in storage until a new use arises.
