NETGEAR GS316EP switch supports MAC ACL?
I am writing to inquire about the MAC filtering capabilities of the NETGEAR GS316EP switch. As you know, MAC filtering is a security feature that allows you to restrict network access to devices with specific MAC addresses through certain ports.
Could you please clarify whether the GS316EP supports MAC filtering so that only a certain device works via a chosen port?
Thank you in advance !!

The GS316EP is in it's core an unmanaged switch, with a tiny uC attached for implementing a very simple Web UI (plus the obsolete NSDP) with some basic config controls.
There are neither MAC ACL nor a https Web UI available, simply not possible due to the lack of tech and resources - sold at the street price of an unmanged switch - it's in no aspect a managed switch.
The GS316EP downloads are there -> https://www.netgear.com/support/product/gs316ep/ including the documentation and comprehensive product description.
Said that, I'll challenge a moderator to move this thread to the Plus And Smart Switches Forum section to discuss Smart Switches (T) and Plus Switches (E), including Local and Remote Management.
Regards
-Kurt.

Hello melvinmicallef,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
As what Kurt shared to us this switch is only intended for a simple pass-through switch and from its factory settings it works as an unmanaged switch until you configure it IP address however the feature is limited only on basic Vlan stuff and other simple configuration. If you need to setup a security by means of ACL, Mac filtering and port securities, we have a wide variety of Smart switches and Managed Switches for Netgear.
