XS508M slow speed

My network is composed of a Google multigig router and a single Netgear XS508M switch.   PCs have 10G network adaptors.

I have 8G service with Google. If I run the Ethernet cable from the Google router direct to a PC, I get about 8239 Mbps down and about 7753 up.  If I run that same cable to the XS508M, and 3' cat 6 from the XS508M to a PC, I get two green lights on the switch for each connection indicating 10G speed detected by the switch for each connection.  However I get very bad speed test results:  bad 679.42 down and awful 149.06 up.

I've rebooted every device, swapped out all the cables, and tried different port combinations on the switch with the same bad results.

Thanks for the reply.   Since my last post, I had some new cable delivered.   CAT 8 SSTP.  Same symptoms.

I'd make contact with NG support and open up a support ticket regarding this.

  • ChuckInKC Did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same Router, ISP and switch and I'm getting terrible perofrmance with the switch. If I connect directly to my 10Gb router I get full speed.

I didn't.   I bought another router which is working perfectly.

Many thanks for the reply. I'm trying to escalate with Netgear support. Will update if I ever get resolution.
