AP compatible with C6250 router or is there a better option?
I have a C620 Wireless Router/Modem connected to Comcast coax that cannot be moved. On the opposite side of my house I have a game room with a TV mounted over a brick fireplace which cannot pick up the wifi signal due to the number of walls in between it and the router. I already have cat5e with POE+ ran for cameras 1 room over for the TV. Due to the layout of the room and wall type, directly running cat5e to the TV isn't possible. I believe I need to install a POE Access point to have wifi that I can connect the TV to. Is there a netgear AP that will work with my router? Possibly the WAX615? Or would a backwired mesh wifi serve me better for this purpose? I do not want to pay a subscription for cloud management of the AP

The WAX214/218 are non-insight managed. I've used the WAX218 without issues.
Or you could switch to a newer system. with xfinity doing all their "next gen" upgrades, upgrading the modem isn't a bad plan too. the C6250 is an older/slower modem.
- WhoeverknowsitAspirantThanks for your help! I am open to switching to a newer modem if necessary. I am not very knowledgeable on this subject. If I get the WAX218 I'm assuming that I would have to manually switch to the stronger connection depending on where i am at in the house, since it is not managed? Would a newer modem setup allow active management without a subscription or do most active systems require a subscription regardless?

The problem is you want POE.
there isn't a mesh poe system from netgear.
