Circle 1st Gen App (2.1.10) arbitrarily blocking websites on RBR50 with 3x RBS50 (firmware 2.7.1.60)

Hi I upgraded our Orbi RBK50 system (2.7.1.60) and Circle 1st Gen (2.1.10) to latest firmware versions to address intermittent web disconnections. It has not fixed the problem. Disabling Circle fixes the problem. I would like to keep Circle as we find the service useful - when it works.

I have also tried resetting Circle to factory defaults, clearing device histories/cache...but connection problems persist (with Circle enabled).

Anyone running into same problems with similar setup?

Hi thanks. I did upgrade to the latest firmware 2.7.1.60 for the router and satellites. Bad connections with Circle enabled; works perfectly when disabled.

I will try router factory reset.

    Hello users,

I would recommend checking to see if your device is due for a firmware update. After a firmware update, you may try factory resetting the router and running through the setup assistant again along with reinstalling the Orbi/Circle app.

Manually updating to RBR firmware 2.7.1.60 (and RBS 2.7.1.60), + a reset of all devices seems to have largely resolved the issue.  This firmware did not automatically update via the app, I had to download and install via the webUI.

I've still gotten intermittent false Circle blocks, but they are resolved by reloading hte page, and have seemed to dwindle in frequency over the past 3 day.

  • Same problem.

    I have an RBR50 firmware 2.5.2.4

Built-in Circle into the router, paid version. In the Webinterface of the router it says the Circle firmware is:

    Agent version:
    2.1.8.9
    APP Database version:
    1.3.1
  • I'm on an RBR40 with Version 2.6.7.0 with the same issues. Sites that are allowed on my profile are being blocked willy nilly.

  • I’m experiencing the same issue for about a week. Circle blocking approved sites, upgraded to firmware 2.5.2.4, did not fix. Also disabled private address on all iPhones/devices to ensure that it’s getting the right profile. One thing I noted is that the blocked sites aren’t showing in the “filtered” tab for any profile...

Would be interested to hear if anyone else experiences the same issue, and perhaps any fixes that come out.
