genie app

im so frustrated. im trying to log into the Geni app on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and it wont let me.  it says to log in with the user name (which has 'admin' already filled in) and password.  all of which i can find on the rounters label.  it wont let me change the 'admin', and just putting the router password isnt working.

  • Are you using the Galaxy's wifi?

     

    Before you can use the Android Genie access the control interface of the Netgear router you need to login to the wifi.

     

    Only then will you be able to login to the control interface with the Netgear Genie.

     

    The wifi login details are not the same as the router login details.

      i logged into netgear, then it went to the next login. thats the one i cant get into.

        What does that mean? Netgear what?

         

        Forget about the genie. First use your Samsung to access the wifi. Mess around a bit to confirm that you have wifi access.

         

        Then start the Netgear Genie.

         

        Then login with the default details user = admin (you cannot change that) and password = password. If password does not work, then you, or someone, may have changed the password using the browser interface.

         

        We don't actually know what you are trying to login to with the genie. I assume a Netgear router, but which one?

  • Via URL works...access that is
    However when trying to un click the dns box to select allow isp...dialog tell me to make change via gui...stuck in a loop

      It works through the web browser here.

       

      Unless you have changed it, the password for the web interface is password. That will work whatever you use to access the router.

       

      The manual explains how to do this:

      See page 54.

       

      You need the genie to bypass your default settings.

    I know how to do, it, I just can't get logged in.

      Hi JYurt,

       

      1. Have you tried using another device (iOS, Android, PC, Mac)?

      2. Please make sure you are using the correct router logins.

      3. Have you tried resetting the router?

        indeed all of the above and NO LUCK

         

        have tried from DRIOD, IOS, Windows...

         

        its that darn GENIE, 'app' can't get past the login...just SPINNS...SPINNS...
