I took advantage of the downtime to upgrade the 753 before going to sleep since other colony members were already asleep early. So far so good.

Same here, updated my system to v.5 FW. One full on power cycle after updating. Systems seems stable so far.

  • Early report after 12 hours,

came from .31 firmware. Flashed dirty with latest version. After several manual reboots, I still have IPV6 working. I had a few times that it disconnected and reconnected, but still working, confirmed.

    RBKE964

    IPV6 enabled.

I will update the report after 48 hours or if something should happen.

Mine went out after roughly 24 hours or sooner, didn't get a chance to check exactly...this was with v7.2.8.2. Haven't tried v7.2.8.5 since there was only a mention of security updates.

Let me know what you figure out. What I found was if you reboot IPv6 will connect again and eventually drop after a certain amount of time. So check after a few days without a reboot.

      Sad to report...

IPV6 issues starting to show around the 16 hr. mark for me.

I then performed a factory reset including fresh firmware flashes w/30 sec. resets for all 4 sats, and 1 router.  Setup from scratch(2.5 hrs)

After all that, (IPV6 still broken) for me, only on android devices now? IDKY..

So for security reasons, I have chosen to disable IPV6 for now.

      Here's my repost update....

      So close.....

Thought so, sorry to hear that actually but expected. I have tried and tried to troubleshoot only to conclude Netgear needs to repair it. Since last February with the release of v.7.2.7.15 it has been broken. Figured they would have this resolved by now...

  • Bit the bullet yesterday and updated RBK853 system. Used web-based GUI, sats first. (Did one at a time, farthest one first in daisy-chain topology.) No issues with loading and reboot. Did not do a factory reset but did the "MODEM/ RBR 1 minute shutdown procedure". Smooth loading. No issues so far. As CrimpOn said, "Time will tell."

  • Sounds like other than the ipv6 issues that aren't new, updating to this firmware is a no-brainer?  Just do it?  FURRYe38 did you test it?

  • I’m on 7.2.8.2 on my RBR850 and 9 RBS850 satellites.

The firmware check shows it “has the latest firmware”.  I am really conservative about changing anything on these ORBIs as every time I do, it involves about a full day of head scratching, resetting this or that and reconnections of the 94 devices around my home.

Yes, 9 satellites works fine as long as I keep it in AP mode and let the ISP Calix router do the DHCP assignments.

These satellites are all daisy-chained with cat 6 cables connecting most of them on a large Georgia marsh lot with 3 separate buildings.

  • I'm pretty new to configuring routers but have had an Orbi RBR750 plus 1 satellite for a long time. I accidentally updated the firmware on the router before the satellites. What can I do at this point to fix the issue?

Go back to what you had loaded on the RBR?

Yes, RBS need to be updated first before the RBR is.
