Netgear Orbi 970 wired backhaul issues
I have a Netgear Orbi 970 series with one router and two satellites. I had my satellites connected using 10g port via CAT 6A to XS508M switch and then to the router to the 10g lan port. The router would reboot randomly to where I had the original router RMA'd, but the current router has the same issues. Netgear support requested that I disconnect the wired backhaul and just use wireless backhaul to test the theory of a broadcast storm on the switch causing the issue. It's been 2 days so far with no issues, but I have seen the router up for 8 days in it's previous configuration so will continue to monitor. If the issue does not reappear using wireless backhaul I was going to clear the mac address table in the switch by disconnecting power for a bit and then connect router, sat 1, and sat 2 one at a time. All gear is on an UPS.
Anyone else have issues using unmanaged switch for wired backhaul? Any recommendations?

Latest is no issues since unplugging the satellites and router from the switch for 5+ days. I just connected the router and one satellite to the switch so will monitor it from there.

When attempting to diagnose network problems, erratic behavior that happens at random intervals is very difficult. What we all would prefer is a condition that can be replicated at will. i.e. "I do this and then that happens... every time!" in this case:

It might be useful to keep a log of when these outages occur and what equipment is connected to the network at the time. It might be helpful to set the debug option to Start Debug Log Capture when boot up. I have never seen documentation regarding how to interpret the debug log, but there might be information about what caused the system to restart.

I have over 120 devices on the network which has been functioning fine since unplugging the satellites. The only devices that were using the switch in question were the router and the two satellites on the 10g ports. I just added the switch back with the router and one satellite so will see how this goes.

I have exactly the same set up running through the exact same switch and I have no issues with the backhaul.

Was the RBS first wirelessly connected to the RBR, then ethernet connected?
What FW version is loaded on the RBR and RBS?Which ports on the switch are you using?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.Brand and model# of ISP modem the RBR is connected too?
Just had my 970 series online before moving to a different system. Also have same non managed switch mode and has not been powered cycled in a long time. Zero issues. Both RBS ethernet connected to this switch.

I setup while wired as I repeated the setup process when I started having issues.
Support had me upgrade to V9.13.2.1_1.3.35 which was recently released.
Ports 1 and 2 for satellites and port 8 for router.
Home is 6000 sq ft. Satellites are more than 30 ft from router.

Orbi tends to prefer having the RBS wirelessly connect first, then once they are fully synced there, then ethernet connect them.
What happens if you use port 1 for the RBR on the XS switch, then ports 2 and 3 for RBS?
Be sure your RBR is using the gateways DMZ or IP pass thru feature to avoid the double NAT condition.

I suggest starting by using the wired backhaul only between the router and the most distant satellite (leaving the other using wireless backhaul). Then maybe repeat that test with only the closer satelite using the wired backhaul.
