Amazon Echo and Netgear C6300
Has anyone figured out how to get Amazon Echo working with the Netgear C6300? Specifically alarms and timers? I've disabled Port Scan and DoS Protection, and turned on Respond to Ping on Internet Port, all under WAN settings, but still no sound from Echo at the end of a timer or alarm. C6300 firmware version 2.01.14, which is controlled entirely by my Internet provider (Comcast).

Hello Shell770
Have you been able to figure out what the Echo is not working? could it be a port forwarding issue?

My Echo was connected to my C6300 fine up until 3 days ago. Now I can't get it to connect to it at all. I have reset the echo as well as the modem and still nothing. Any ideas on how to resolve the connection issue or what is causing the problem? Everything else has connected fine via wifi but the Echo.

Hello erin1954
You may want to try and switch the wireless channel on the modem see if then it will connect.

Hi All,
Thank you for your responses. Always nice when users help each other. I did finally get my Echo working, including timers and alarms, on my Netgear C6300, albeit painfully. Below are the steps I had to take, but know I did these once with no success then decided to do a full factory reset and try again. Everything below worked after a factory reset. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I'v had to perform a factory reset to make my new technology work with this router. Anyway, here is what worked for me:
1- Disable port scan and DoS protection (WAN setup)
2- Enable Repond to ping on Internet port (WAN setup)
3- Select port forwarding to always (port forwarding/port triggering)
4- Create the below six custom services (port forwarding/port triggering) <-- I got this list of ports from Amazon
a. 123 (TCP/UDP)
b. 40317 (TCP/UDP)
c. 49317 (TCP/UDP)
d. 33434 (TCP/UDP)
e. 4070 (TCP)
f. 5353 (UDP)
Everything has been stable for a couple of days, but still holding my breath a bit. Good luck to anyone else!

Thank you for posting how you corrected your issues! It has allowed me to reconnect my Echo and the timer now also works!

When you checked the Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection did any of the DoS events still show up in your log?
I am having issues with my Ring doorbell after it has been working for many months just stopped connecting for video and audio but notifications are still working for rings and motion. I tried checking the Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection box but events still show up in my log as if it was still activated.
Thanks,

Hi I'm currently trying to change my ports and everything. This is my second amazon echo and the first one was sent back because they thought it was faulty and after an hour on the phone with Amazon on this second one they told me I need to open up ports. They gave me a list of ports excatly like yours but plus one. How did you set up the ports? What did you use for the IP address? I just want to make sure I'm doing it right because I tried opening the ports but it still is't working. Thank you.

Hello Johnwloneill
You use the IP address of the Echo itself you will need to go to the attached devices tab in the settings of the router and it should show the Ip. Then you open the ports for it.
