Netgear CM1100 firmware update help

I have a netgear CM1100 modem. My internet provider, Sparklight, does NOT update my modem, how do I update the firmware since they do not.  Sparklight ONLY updates equipment that a customer rents from them.  I purchased this modem because the modem/router I rented from them (Sparklight) at first was a piece of junk and I had continual problems with it.  The Sparklight tech that responded (several times) to my house to fix the issues in the past told me to buy my own modem/router because he agreed that the rented equipment was junk.

As far as I know it has the orignial firmware? Operating system would be Windows 11/ Ubuntu linux. It would be in a home office setting. So video conferencing is important.

Please help

Side note: It asked me what board to join, none of the board listed had anything to do with modems, except the one I "joined". This board listed mobile modems? When I went to "show all" it listed languages so select, not boards to select? This is the closest board I could join, because at least it mentioned modems?  I did not know which other board I could join?

You don't. Firmware isn't user updatable. Its part of the provisioning from the ISP.

So there isn't anything you can change with it. Its part of the docsis spec.

Are you having issues with it?

But if my ISP doesn't update it, and I can't update it, then updates never happen?  What then?

Is there any way I can check to see what firmware I have on it at least?
