Wired Connection a lot slower than 5G WiFi

I've been running into a weird issue where my wired download speeds are much lower than my 5G WiFi speeds. When I hardwire the router to my laptop, it says the connection is the same name as the 2.4G wireless band. I'm only getting a max of 80 Mbps download speeds (same as 2.4G WiFi) this way, but when I use the 5G wireless band, I can get over 300 Mbps. It doesn't make sense to me how the wired one would be capped. Funny thing is, on my Xbox One console I can pull the 300+ speeds wired, but not on either laptop. Both laptops have Gig ethernet ports and would reach the desired speeds with past routers. Any tips on how to uncap the wired speeds on my PCs? I always prefer to run wired if I can, but not if I'm going to be getting susbtantially slower speeds than I'm getting with wireless.

What, exactly, says what, exactly?  Did you just plug in an Ethernet
cable, or did you also tell the (unspecified) "my laptop" to use the
wired interface?  "same as 2.4G WiFi" could be easy to explain if you're
still using your 2.4GHz wireless network.

When I plug an Ethernet cord into the port, it gives that connection the same name (and speeds) as the 2.4 wireless band. It caps at like 80 megs wired. How can I get the wired connection to have the same speeds as my 5G wireless band? That's the goal. It does it on my Xbox, not my PCs.

Main issue is I shouldn't be getting 80/10 speeds on a Wired connection if I'm able to pull 300/20 on 5G wireless. Wired should always be faster.

Not if your (unspecified) "my laptop" has a 100MHz wired connection.
What do the port-status LED indicators on the router indicate?
