Wireless working but not wired model :c3000

Hi,

My 'netgear N300 wifi cable modem router' is working for wiresless but the ethernet suddenly stopped working. I have two ethernet ports on modem/router and tried both of them. None works. The ethernet light(green dit light) is not on either. All other 'top set of lights' are on but ethernet light is also not on. Model number is C3000. Please help.

    Hello Prashantdogra

     

    You may want to check your etherenet cords make sure those are good then you might want to try a factory reset on the modem. When you factory reset you will have to setup all the settings on the modem again. If the ports are still not working I would contact Netgear support if your modem is still under warranty.

  • Thanks Darren. I checked ethernet cords.. Tried with new ones as well. I dont think thats an issue. Do you know how to do factory reset? I tried switching off, taking wires off, holding for dew mins and then conencting again.

      Hello Prashantfogra

       

      You will have to hold down the reset button for 10 seconds which is a pinhole on the back of the modem that will factory reset the modem.

  • I have a button in the back(looks like a round button which gets on with a push and off with second push). I dont see any pinhole in this otherwise 😔
  • Also, i have tried switching off with that button, waited for around one min and restarted. It did not work. Also in second attempt, i took the power line off, disconnected internet wire from modem, waited ofr one min and then connected internet lone back followed by power line and switched it on. It still did not work. It was working till 3 days back. It suddenly stopped working.

      Sorry about that it is actually a pinhole on the bottom of the modem right in the center.

  • I did the trst from the pin. Pressed it and holded it for 25 seconds and released. It did factpry reset as my password etc were back to factory settings. I also did a second reset from the admin login page. But still etjernet is not working. I have two ethernet ports on this router and none works. Also to remind you, i dont even have the ethernet light 'on' on. I dont have warranty for netgear currently as well. But this is very inconvinient. Suddenly ethernet stops working. Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

      I am having the exact same issue.  Ethernet ports are not working.  Have tried numerous cables as well as devices (Ooma, laptop).  Mine c3000 modem router is under warranty.  I need a fix to this please.

       

       

  • Please let me know if you get a fix. This is very bad thing. They wont help fixing this and looks like it happens quite often with lot of users.
