Connect Liveplug HD+ 200 with Netgear XAV2602/1601
EN (en français après) (not my mother language) :
Hello,
I would like to connect my Xbox One S and my PC with ethernet cable to my internet box (Orange Livebox). Both devices are too far from the box and too far from each other to be connected directly. I have these PLC adaptaters :
-Orange Liveplug HD+ 200 (x2)
-Netgear xav2602 (x1)
-Netgear xav1601 (x1)
Orange adapters works together and netgear adaptaters works together. I tried to put an Orange adaptater and a Netgear Adaptater on the same socket (the socket of my internet box) but it didn't work. So my question is : is it possible to create a home network with 3 of theses adaptaters ? So can 2 adaptaters of different brands can work together ? I have on my PC the softwares Netgear Powerline Utility, Netgear Genie and Devolo Cockpit (because Orange adaptaters are in fact the same as Devolo adaptaters). Is it possible to configure adaptaters with these softwares to make them use the same cripting/password ?
If it is impossible, can someone help me to find a PLC adaptater compatible with my Netgear PLCs ?
Thank you in advance for your help.

FR :
Bonjour,

Hello,
I finally succeeded to fix the problem myself. I'll give my solution here if it can interest someone.
1) Download these softwares :
-Netgear Powerline Utility (NPU) : Download link
-Devolo Cockpit : Download link
2) Write down the security codes that are behind all PLC devices. You will need them.
3) I found that both brands (Orange and Netgear) can be configured with these 2 softwares. Once both softwares are installed, you need to create the home network with 2 PLC devices of the same brand (the 2 orange or the 2 netgear). I connected my livebox and my PC like that. Make sure the connexion is working properly.
4) Add a third PLC device (for my Xbox, in my case) on your network. Open Devolo Cockpit software. It should display the previous 2 PLC devices in your home network. If it is a Devolo or Orange PLC brand, its name should be written on it or it will be blank if it is another brand (like Netgear) but it should work the same way. Click on "add a device" then on "add a device with its security code". Enter the security code of the third PLC device you just added.
5) Open Netgear Poweline Utility. Right click on any of device and click "Security". Make sure all 3 PLC devices are checked. Then check "Use the default encryption key : HomePlug AV". Click on "apply to selected devices". It may asks you to give the security passwords of some devices in your home network. If you correctly wrote them down, type them down in the right box and accept.
The 3 PLC devices should be working together now, even if they are from different brand.
I tried to be the more precise I can, but if it doesn't work for you don't hesitate to tell me, I will help you (don't hesitate to create an account for this, that's what I did for my problem). can explain to you in english (the best I can, it's not my mother language) or in french.

Excellent feedback.
Other users have also found that they can use Zyxel's Powerline software to set up and configure their Powerline networks. It also lets them turn off "sleep mode" in Netgear's plugs.
It is a pity that Netgear can't produce decent Powerline software.

Different adapters should work together if they follow AV standard. But you have to make them talk to each other.
This is how it works for Netgear plugs:
>>> Adding a powerline adapter to an existing powerline network <<<
You will have to work out how to do this with Orange plugs.
Do that and the software could work with all of them.
