You should be able to connect your ReadyNAS to ReadyCLOUD now.

What firmware are you running?
Are you using a static IP address for the NAS? If so, make sure you configured at least one DNS server

I running latest firmware - 6.5.1
Not sure about IP as I am not so technical. I guess it is not static as the last number always changes after I reboot the system. http://192.168.1. ....

You definitely are getting the address automatically then (your router is assigning it).

You specificially talked about the manual, but not the FAQ. We aren't mind readers, we can only use the info you provide.
I don't work for Netgear, and since I'm not using the new ReadyCloud I can't (and don't) offer a lot of advice on it. It is a holiday weekend in the US, hopefully you will get useful help soon.
One thing you could try is adding google's DNS server to your NAS configuration (8.8.8.8 and/or 8.8.4.4).
