Unable to Discover Device

I am attempting to connect to my NAS using the Ready CLOUD (RC), however the device cannot be discovered. I have tried the serial number to no avail. RAIDar sees the NAS without an issue.

I am using RAIDar 6.2 and Firmware 6.6.0 on NAS. I have updated the RC software to V 1.13, still no joy at all.

Any advice accepted. Thanks in advance.

  • The problem seemed to have existed in the RNAS Cloud Settings as the Proxy Server Box was ticked. All is working fine now. Thanks for all of your assistance to who guided me in this issue. Happy Christmas.

    Hello wayne2101

I guess that  ReadyCLOUD discover service of your NAS is turned off already, you can press backup button and hold for 5 seconds to reactivate discover service,if the service is turned on again, you will see "Discovery on" in front LCD panel.

Hi,  I have conducted the discover service by pressing the back up button (Discover on, on the panel) still to no avail.

        Hi wayne21,

When you go to your Cloud tab, do you (2) green check marks?

Are both ReadyNAS units on the same network?

        Regards,

    Hello wayne2101

I found some  errors of connecting ReadyCLOUD server in the log you provided,it seems the DNS server you configured cannot resolve domain name of ReadyCLOUD server to IP address, currently you set it to 192.168.0.1,can you change DNS server to Google public IP 8.8.8.8?

      Hi,

I have changed the IP to 8.8.8.8 and I now have 'Internet Unavailable' with a question mark (cannot attach device, try again later bubble message) beside it at the top of the Cloud admin page on the RNAS.

I have tried deleting the DNS Servers IP addresses however the router IP address returns if no other IP address is inputted. However as you have mentioned leaving the 8.8.8.8 in I have the same unavailable message.

I have also returned the drop down menu for the DHCP to assign the IP address to the RNAS as this is set on the router by MAC address.

I am still unable to set up the device via RCloud.

        Hi,

I have now reset all and gone back to assign an IP by DHCP on my router. On the cloud tab on the RNAS I get Internet Available (green tick), however Internet Services are unavailable (red cross), cannot register device, try again later.

I can see my RNAS in RCloud, however unable to see any shares or add/invite users.

We seem to be making headway, however still a little way to go, any advice please.
