Network card failue after upgrade

I have two ReadyNas drives. I upgrades my 312 based on the prompt without any issues but when I did the same thing to the 214, the network cards failed. The display said, no IP addres. What I have tried without effect:

I rebooted the router

I left the 214 alone over night (14 hours).

I power recycled the box

Only thing else I can think of to try is to clear out the cable modem.

Can you think of anything else to try.

update:
RAIDar does not discover the NAS
Resetting the cable mobel has no effect
disconecting the network cable has no effect
moving a network cable from a valid machine has no effect

  Did you try powering down the RN214 and then restarting it?

    yes I tried power and recycle. It had no effect.
