- NhellieVirtuosoIf you can access readycloud fine then there is no need to open a port for it. If you are asking what port it uses, the default is 6300 which you can also modify. Go to cloud>remote>settings
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserFWIW, personally I'd limit external access to https (meaning I wouldn't open port 80). Port 21 is for FTP - it is only needed if you access the NAS with an FTP client.
- hawke84TutorOK thanks. I've closed 80 and opened 443. The security warning is annoying but better to be secure.
I've not opened 6300 but as nhellie says it seems to work fine. Thanks for the help - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIf you use FTP, you will also need to specify a smaller range of passive ports in the NAS, and then forward them in the router.
4 passive ports are enough for me. The port numbers you pick should be in the range 49152-65535.
FWIW, with firefox you can easily add an exception to eliminate the warning. I use both firefox and chrome, and with chrome I just click through it. - vandermerweMasterWhy do you want to leave port 443 permanently open?

You can also browse shares if you have http access enabled for them.hawke84 wrote: On my router so I can connect to the administration page externally
If you wish you can also use the secondary https feature. For instance, assign 54321 as the secondary port, and forward that. Then access via https://ddnsname:54321/admin This is useful if you have other devices that can be managed remotely (perhaps the router itself).
It's important to choose good passwords if you forward ports. - dsm1212ApprenticeI decided to give readycloud a try again, but I don't see any shares via readycloud. I've opened port 6300 but that doesn't help. When I click on "admin" next to my nas, it says "I must be on the same lan to use the admin feature" but I am on the same lan. Discover doesn't find my nas either but if I put in my serial number it will give me the manage button. Honestly I can't find anything in readycloud that works :-(. Maybe I've closed some relevant port or something. I'm on a mac client running chrome if that matters. Is there a better way? What happened to webdav?
steve - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserPersonally I use ftps and https remotely.
webdav is supported in the RN104.
