Unable to join readycloud after mynetgear migration

Hi all,

I'm stuck unable to join readycloud after the mynetgear migration.  The readynas 102 updated fine.  6.5.0 is up and running, I can log in to admin.  I can't JOIN readycloud though.

I did migrate my readycloud account.  Got the confirm email and a success message, but the web page won't discover my NAS and the JOiN option from the NAS admin page just clocks for awhile then returns with the email/password prompt.  Nothing I've read in the community and tried has worked.  There are no error messages, so I'm out of guesses.

Any suggestions?

thanks,

Rob

  • Hey,

Make sure you have valid DNS and gateway in your network adapter (common problem if you switched to static IP).

Also make sure you have UPnP enabled.

ReadyNAS uses port 443 for outbound/inbound communication over HTTPS.

Make sure you are seeing all the new features on your Admin Page Cloud tab (like Amazon Cloud Drive); if not, you might have some browser cache issue (another common one lately).

If you leave ReadyCLOUD, you have to reconfigure it which would not be ideal.

Can you detail some of the other things you tried so we're not giving you the same steps?

      Thanks Kohdee,

injavent tried anything as sophisticated as you mentioned, just the basics like clearing caches.  I do use static IP, so I'll try that right away.

I did "leave" readycloud since that was a step in the directions...or maybe it was on the portal error screen.  I want already dead in the readycloud water though.  The NAS looks fine, all new features are there, all functions are normal except for the inability to JOiN readycloud.

      Will post results.  Fingers crossed.

        Guide

So I verified that uPnP is enabled.  It was.  I added the IP address to the reserve list on my r8500 and assigned port 443 to the readynas.  I'm not very knowledgable for networking, so I may have done all of that incorrectly.

I then hen couldn't reach the readynas.  So I backed those changes out and now I can reach and log into the NAS again.

i did notice a new error - 'antivirus definition file update failed due to download failure...."  So maybe the NAS can't see the Internet and the portal can't find it.

I did did just notice that the status above the cloud tab in the NAS used to sat offline and now after adding my is-'so dns server to the NAS configuration the status has changed to "Internet Available and Services Available". Stupid right.

Still can't join though.  Networking has never been a strength of mine

        thanks for the help.
