Hi there!
I've been using the Transmission App on this ReadyNAS and it's Predesessor (old Sparc Model, still works but not enough capacity) and I grew very fond of it.
I know that you have been making an adapted version and I would be willing to give it a try if it can meet my needs:
- setting the seeding speed to "0"
- any form of automated adding of torrents, preferbly RSS (extratorrent)
The first option is an absolout must. In the country I life in torrent users are hunted by lawer firms and the law says it is illegal as soon as you start to distribute (seed). On a side note- I only download torrents wich are already seeded in the thousends (popular TV torrents)
The second option may me achived by "Automatic for Bittorent" or some similiar tool.
Thank you so much for your effort and service to such a great community!
Cheers abe

abe_cologne wrote:- setting the seeding speed to "0"
According to a post on the Transmission forum you can disable seeding globally under Settings > Torrents > Seeding > Stop seeding at ratio. Set this to 0.

Would require a separate application, there's a few out there. As long as it supports Transmission's remote RPC protocol it should work fine.

According to the Transmission wiki: "The client should be closed before making changes, otherwise settings will be reverted to it's previous state."

Hello NasTools, first of all thank you for contributing with such a great apps!!!
I have a problem, though. When I edit /etc/settings.json in nas-tools folder it stays modified only until I restart the service. After turning off and on transimssion service, the orignal settings are being brought back. None of my changes stays after restarting. What I am doing wrong?
I do have Readynas 102 with readynas os 6.5.1 to be exact
thank you for any ideas why i might happen

Hi, everyone! It's been a while and I've been busy! Just wanted to post and give some updates as to what I've been up to.
Logitech Media Server
Logitech didn't include armel libraries for Perl v5.20 that comes in ReadyNAS OS 6.6.0. Working on an updated package for the ARM units.
netdata
There's an update available from the Firehol team (v1.4.0). In progress.
ZoneMinder
Some of its dependencies aren't available in 6.6.0. I'm testing an updated package and should be able to post it tomorrow.
Now that 6.6.0 is out I've started working on this one. That should make kevcompton happy. :robothappy:
I needed something to control all the IoT stuff taking over my house, so why not run it on my NAS? Package is in the works.
I'm really digging this VPN solution. The Linux client is CLI only so I'm working on a web UI that interacts with the client's API, and packing it up nicely for ReadyNAS (of course).
- jhaggLuminary
NasTools, these are all great additions to the ReadyNAS app availability, things have been looking pretty bleak in that department, so thank you.
Any chance of getting us an NZBGet package for OS 6.6.0?

Looks like Mhynlo is working on this one.

ZeroTier does sound intriguing. If I'm reading their documentation right, it would allow access to a ReadyNAS, including backup jobs between locations, via the VPN but not route all traffic through it (unless that's your desire). Let me know if you need any testers, as I have one NAS I use for such things.
In the meantime, a guide to manually installing it would be appreciated. The CLI doesn't scare me, but it's unclear to me from only their site what I need to install to assure I have all dependancies.

I would also like the dedicated app compatible with ARM Readynas devicesStill working on the web frontend for it, but since there's interest I'll put out a CLI only package first.

Mhynlo started packaging NZBGet for 6.6.0 but has since gone dark on it or I wouldn't have bothered you with it, currently there is no solution in place.
I talked to Mhynlo, he's just putting the finishing touches on it. :robothappy:

Since the firmware has upgraded to 6.6.0 the zoneminder NT cannot install. Do you have upgrade package or the solution for this issue.
Yes I do! I'll have siigna update my original post. New version for 6.6.0 is v1.30.0-nt2.

Alright everyone, new release of Logitech Media Server. I messed up my versioning (there's a story there), so I've thrown out and recreated my git repository.
The "initial (re)release" is v7.9.0~1477086729-nt1. I'm now pulling from Logitech's slimserver nightlies rather than straight from their git repo.
This one works on x86 and ARM platforms, minimum firmware is 6.6.0 (if you haven't upgraded firmware yet, might want to look into it :robotwink:).
Once this version is in the app site, some versions won't prompt for upgrade, so you'll have to upgrade manually:
7.7.5-nt1 will offer an upgrade.
7.9.0.b7dfc80-nt1 and nt2 will not offer an upgrade.
7.9.0~20160617.858e1e0-nt1 will not offer an upgrade.
- jaredbidlowAspirantwhat is the advantage of LMS over Plex? Should I install LMS if I already use Plex? Does LMS serve music better than Plex and also support Chromecast audio?

It does look like somebody is supporting Chromecast Audio via an LMS plugin. I'll look into this!

v1.30.0-nt2 is the version you want for firmware 6.6.0. Can you download your system logs (System > Logs > Download logs) and PM me the install_debpkg.log?
Hello NAStools.
Really appreciate the addons that you have developed. It seems that the Readnas firmware has been changing very quickly and is currently at 6.7.4 which has brought forth a few issues.
One being that Zoneminder v1.30.0-nt2 has stopped working. It currently is unable to start (error code 22002010000) and also can not be downloaded and installed from the available apps page.
Can Zoneminder be updated for whatever changed in firmware 6.7.4 ?
Thanks
- grimlochAspirantInstalled 6.6.0 and istat server is working great with bjango app.

Retired_Member,
Have you tried StephenB's suggestion? You could also try getting in touch with the app developer.
