In frontview, I have a custom email setup. My "User" name is my account email address, but the "From" name (in the Advanced Options pane) is the sub-account email address associated with the main account. My ReadyNAS Photos II account was set up with that sub-account email. My service provider does not have separate logins for each alias or sub-account under the main email account.
Now, when I check the headers of the email, the "from" address does have the same email as my RNPII account; the only thing different in the long headers is that the "X-Smtp-Server" info shows the main email address. Still, no dice on the upload.
Hi NAStronaut,
Photos II does not use any email settings from Frontview, so you can treat Photos II as an independent app. To upload photos via email. Please check the following:
1. A valid email is used in your Photos II account. (You can check at Settings > Manage Photographers > Edit the Primary account. For example: photos@gmail.com is used as your primary email.
2. Remote Upload is setup correctly. If setup correctly, you should get a Target email, for example: nas-1234@photos.readynas.com
3. In your email client, make sure you login to your email account that is used to setup your Photos II account. In this example, it is photos@gmail.com. When you login to your photos@gmail.com, compose a new email and use "nas-1234@photos.readynas.com" in To field, leave Subject blank, attach your photos in this email, then click Send.
Let me know if you still have issue with uploading photos via email.
Thanks
