RN104 recent Update to 6.5.0 Deluge Download Folder Permission Problems
Hi All,
Sorry to trouble you. But I am having some real problems with an App downloaded and installed from ReadyNas Xtras. The App, Deluge 1.3.12 has been fine after installing on my Netgeat RN104 (I am new to the NG Community, but an IT Pro and qualified Consultant, I am just struggling a bit as had a recent abdo operation, major too after a month I am still unwell! :smileysad:), all that aside. I will list the problems I have and the solutions I have tried:
1. After Update of 6.5.0 Deluge Stopped working, solved this but all my downloads were gone - they are still there in shares folders so that is okay.
2. Again as above, Deluge now will not download to specified folder even after playing around with Admin/Root/Folder rights in the RN104's GUI - when I try to download a new Torrent I get 'permission denied' error and the Torrent flags up as RED - Error.
3. I have tried SSH Login to solve this, but I am really not quite up there with CLI on Netgear ReadyNas's I know they are all much of a muchness, but consider my recent op and realise my brain is a little fried - I NEED HELP!
4. One of the ReadyNas Xtras Engineers, last time helped me out and logged in via TeamViewer, sorted the 'permission denied' problem and all was sorted. I thought I could do, what this chap did for me last time, but honestly I am struggling with this.
So in conclusion, if anyone can help - point me with some code to give the download folder (of my choice) in my RN104 for Deluge to download to that would be great. If you can go one better and like ReadyNas Xtras, come in via SSH and sort it all, brilliant. Any and all help would be welcomed.
Many thanks.

Hello DJL-Consulting,
The app is not listed at ReadyNAS apps that were submitted to Netgear. Also, since that is an app, only the developer can help you. They might need to adjust something on the app since the 6.5.0 is a major FW release.
Welcome to the community!
Regards,
- Yeah it was, I have emailed him twice now - but to no avail, I am literally a step away from doing it myself just a few pointers with CLI Code that is all. I will try and PM him now and see if he can help, as it is very frustrating.... Thanks all. :-)
- jaybeprTutorI just upgraded both of my Readynas (104 and 314) and I am having similar problems. Yesterday morning before upgrading the filmeare everything was working perfect like always, as soon I did the upgrade i'm both NAS rebooted I noticed there was no connection to the share folder from any computer on my network. The only way I was able to connect was by FTP. They spend good four hours on TeamViewer and nothing. There is no errors anywhere and the Raidar Connect to both of them with no problem. It's got to be a Firmware problem, still waiting for them to contact me.

That is a shame, I have had a quick go myself SSH with the app but nothing, it just locks me out all the time - so hopefully (and I know it is no comfort) it is a FW problem. Let's hope software engineers in charge sort it and sort it quick (please, pretty please!).
Good luck!- JennCNETGEAR Employee Retired
Hello jaybepr,
What error message do you get when trying to access via SMB? Have you tried resetting the permission of at least one share and disabling and enabling the SMB?
Regards,
- jaybeprTutorMy friend we have tried everything, There is no errors messages, it just won't acces SMB. Everything else works even the cloud, DLNA, FTP, admin page, RaidAR finds them no problem. Just to see I took out my old Readynas NV and install a 500GB drive, it connected like nothing and it works like the other ones used to work before the Firmware upgrade. Netgear customer support was connected to my computer for over 4 hours and couldn't find the problem. I tried five different computers on the same network with the same problem, if I go to the network and search I can see both NAS but when I try to go inside I can't, just like if they were disconnected from the network, but remember I can see them when I go to search on Network. It's got to be something related with the Firmware.

It sounds like a real nightmare, I shall look at what I can do (from research and if need be help from here) and see what my ReadyNas RN104 is upto tomorrow (I am a Network/IT Consultant) and see if there are any pointers or help I can give or advise you further with.
I hope that is okay.

Thanks my friend very appreciated, I would love any help you can give me. But what it looks like it's going to be Firmware problem, there's a lot of people with the same problem I'm having right after The firmware upgrade and that's a big coincidence. Please if you find out something just let me know because I am going crazy here, from a perfectly working system in just 10 minutes it became a totally useless and very expensive system. I have been using Netgear Readynas for years, right now I have my old NV that I took out of the closet yesterday and its working like a sharm, no problems at all.

Is there any solve for this problem?
- jaybeprTutorOK my friend this is what I just find out , I don't know if somebody else wants to try it and let us know but this is my results. I have 2 NAS a 104 and a 314, I decided to backup my 104 to my pc and did a factory default reset And believe it or not after that everything is back to normal on the 104, the 314 still have the same problem. On the 104 I clean the disks and start all over again. If you want to try this do it on your own risk, for me it worked. Now I am going to back up the 314 to the 104 and try the same thing on it. Good luck and let us know your results.

There is small problem, with backing up 2TB of data...
- StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Is your problem also related to the Deluge Download Folder? Or is it something else?

If the data is important to you, you should back it up. RAID is (in my experience) not enough to keep your data safe.
Though it is inconvenient/time consuming to restore all the data.
