Cannot access admin page
Hello, new to the whole NAS thing.
using a Mac which i set up the NAS on, I was getting access to the Admin page but now is showing
that pass word recovery has not been set for this device, and password recovery is not available.
just looking at an idea on how to get to the admin page so i can set up the password recovery.

Hi mandsguy,
Welcome to the Community!
In accessing the admin page and setting up the password recovery, you can try typing https://ReadyNAS_IP_address/admin on your web browser, wherein ReadyNAS_IP_address is the IP address of your ReadyNAS, then go to Security> Admin Password.
If you do not remember the admin password for the NAS, you can do an OS re-install so the password will go back to default. The default password is netgear1. You can check this link for the steps on how to access the boot menu and select the OS re-install.

John's reply assumes that your NAS is actually an old Duo (which Netgear stopped manufacturing about 5 years ago). They won't apply to other two-bay ReadyNAS (Duo v2, ultra 2, pro-2, RN102, RN212, etc).
So please do confirm your NAS model before using them.

I'm a bit late to the party, but it may help someone having the same issue. I have this happen on occasion. Being a non-professional home user it was panic time when it first happened. For me I found its all in the "URL" . I have a 526X, and the admin page is bookmarked in my browser. When clicking on the bookmark what normally is entered into the address bar is "https;//10.0.1.3/admin". On occastion for some reason the URL address changes to "https://10.0.1.3/password_recovery/". When that happens you get the password recovery page. Reloading, or re clicking the bookmark does not solve the problem. Highlighting "password-recovery/" portion of the URL and changing it back to "admin" solves the problem. How ovbvious this is depends on your browser. On a mac using Safari the URL address bar does not show the acutal URL address being used, rather somthing like "login to 526X" You have to click on the address bar to see the actuall address. Using Firefox the actuall URL address is shown, and you can see initially the correct addess is entered, then is changed for some reason. There must be some interaction between the browser and the OS6 admin page.
