Awesome information; So even though my model sticker on the bottom of it says RND2000 v2. It appears (at least according to the link you provided) to actually be a V1, this may be the issue at hand. I'll download the manuals for the v1 and see where tha gets me.

Thanks for the reply. Yes it does say no disks when the bays are empty.
The disks are operational as tested, full sector scans return positive.
After doing more digging I see that the RAIDar shows that my device has no firmware installed. I have tried to update via the USB. I have turned he device on and off several time and eventually got to a "setup page" it sticks are initlizing disks. Screen shot to follow

Also can you confirm that you have the v2?: http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/
The v1 boot menu is completely different to the one for the v2.
A screenshot of RAIDar would be helpful but do note that that was written for newer models running 6.2.4 onwards.
If there was no firmware on the device then the system wouldn't boot as far as it got already.
Also, the USB Boot Recovery files for the v1 and v2 are different.
