Corrupt Root issue
I had an old ReadyNas Duo that stopped working. I purchased a ReadyNas Duo 2, hoping to use the old disks with it. I swapped in the old disks and powered up the Readynas Duo 2. Raidar finds the Duo 2 but says it can't access due to "corrupt root".
What next? I just want to find a way to access the information on the disks (the reason I bought the Duo in the first place).

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat happened to your original Duo? Why do you think it's no longer working?
Do you remember if you were using X-RAID or Flex-RAID? - BrianLiddAspirantI don't know about X-Raid or Flex-Raid. The Duo wouldn't finish powering up and RAIDar couldn't see it.

Please note that the Duo v2 uses a different RAID format to the Duo v1.
If your Duo v1 can be booted to tech support mode then it would be best to investigate the problem using that. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredUnfortunately it looks like at least one of your disks is failing/dead
You should contact support. I would think a data recovery contract would be required in a situation like this before support could attempt to recover your data.
I see SMART errors on the disks.
