Degraded Volume? #24527711
I have a RN102 that has two 1 TB drives and they are closed to be full, so I bought 2 3TB drives and installed one in the second bay and it synced up fine, but it duplicated the same size drive, so the 3 TB is now a 1 TB drive and it states in the web base software that it is a 1 TB drive, but the screen (picture of the drives) shows a 3 TB. I have since put the 2nd drive in the first bay and it works fine, but the size of the drive is 1 TB, I'm hoping that there is a way to resize the drive and keep the files.
Any help would be helpful..
Thanks

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat do you see for the Volume under Volumes in the Dashboard?
So you now have two 3TB drives installed? - glamismanAspirantIn the Dashboard under volumes it shows data=836.91 GB 88.83 GB Free, but the picture shows a 3 TB drive. I currently have the one 3 TB drive installed, it's working fine, but the size.
Thanks for the response. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou would need to insert a second 3TB drive to expand your volume. Or to backup your data and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything).
- glamismanAspirantI have had both drives installed and still have only 1 TB , do I have to do a factory reset to get the full 3 TB?
Thanks - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you insert a second 3TB disk it should do a sync (this would take several hours) then after that completes your volume should expand.
- glamismanAspirantThanks, I will insert the second drive and hopefully it will sync fine and expand to 3Tb.
Thank You... - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredBacking up your data, doing a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) and restoring from backup would of course be an option.
If you download your logs, what does initrd.log look like? - glamismanAspirantHere is a copy of some of it.
