rimmerhg (Powershift partner) - rimmerhgAspirantHi mdgm
Case Ref #25243649
I have scanned all the release notes and cannot find a reference to it being removed.
I have also discovered that it was removed on OS4 4.2.27 but that any jobs created before that update will replicate Home Share Folders.
My client is not happy as I said that I needed to update to the latest firmware to keep secure now I have to tell them that one of the features does not work which they have on there Older Boxes. (As long I I do not modify the Jobs)
I am not very pleased as I have told Netgear UK.
Thank you for your interest

8 x ReadyNAS Pro4 & 314,316 - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI can't see any reference to it ever being in any OS6 firmware which is why I was puzzled when you indicated it had been removed.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserFWIW The web UI backup does support home folder backup.
Seems to me that it would be a good thing if replicate did also. - BubbaMikeAspirantSince upgrading to 6.2.4 my RN104 crashes/locks up/stops responding/etc almost every single day. Pulling the power plug is the only option.
I have been reading on the different issues and at this point I think going back to 6.2.2 is my best bet...however, either I am blind or my google-fu is bad but I cannot seem to find the procedure and firmware to do it.
I don't want to spend too much time trying to retrieve logs and other troubleshooting...the NAS will almost always fail when I am not around to reset it and then it causes problems. I just want a stable firmware running...is that too much to ask? LOL - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou would download the firmware and upload it as per the instructions in the Release Notes: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26257/~/readynas-os-version-6.2.2 You browse for where the file was downloaded to on your PC and upload it to the NAS.
What firmware were you running before updating to 6.2.4? Can you send me your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig).
Without knowing more details on your problem it is impossible to know whether downgrading to 6.2.2 would help or not.
6.2.4 is stable firmware. The problem you are experiencing is most likely not a problem with the firmware. - aschildAspirantA few questions for the cloud environment:
For test purposes we have a ReadyNAS 102 with the 6.2.4 release.
We are testing it in a private cloud style setup,
office with the ReadyNAS, access via "Remote" from Windows+OS-X Laptops, as well as Android and iOS systems.
What does not seem to work:
ReadyCloud android client
-> only shows files
-> no not modify/delete existing files, downloaded+edited files are not reuploaded
-> no way to upload new files to the nas (Only automatic pictures upload works)
- ReadyCloud windows client:
-> On a remote laptop it sees the NAS, but is silently unable to establish the VPN
-> On another dekstop system, after installing the ReadyCloud client all network connectivity lost
- ReadyCloud OS-X Client
-> Does not yet exist, even as featured in the documentation
- ReadyCloud Website
-> Does not remember/autodetect webbrowser language, always switches back from german to english
-> Password reset does send a link, but setting a new password results in two red password fields, with no explanation what's wrong
-> Password reset does not work
-> Only the top-level folders of the NAS are displayed, navigating down does not work
We haven't yet tested the iOS client, but with the above list we are not very motivated to do this... - SurplusGadgetsAspirantPro2 RNDP2000 (6TB) and Pro4 RNDP4000 (8TB) both upgraded without issue in May.
Ultra4+ RNDP400U (16TB) is in infinite "Booting ..." since i let it upgrade on 1 June. Ideas? No access from SSH nor HTTPS nor RAIDar (4.3.8 or 6.0). Did an "OS Reinstall" from the "Boot Menu" and eventually same thing (got Checking Root Disk ... and Updating Firmware ... intermediate messages before back to same "Booting ..."). Had done 4 full power down / pull power restarts before the "OS reinstall"; and 2 since. Seems I need to do a firmware reload via USB but do not find that info available anywhere for 6.x. Device had only ~5GB free at firmware upgrade time (it is nearly full). Hitachi Deskstar 4TB H3D40006472SE / HDS724040ALE640 disks installed. Purchased new 1.5 years ago. (Was away for 14 days in interim and hence just getting back to it now.)
All devices were at 6.2.2 before allowing the upgrade. Pretty vanilla (no extra's / add-on's except SSH) and lightly used (media/DLNA, backup and file server functions). - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDoesn't sound like the firmware on the internal flash is likely to be the problem, so I don't think USB Boot Recovery is the thing to try next.
