Hardware warranty with shipped drives versus updated ones
Wondering how the hardware warranty is handled IF the original shipped drives are removed/sold/upgraded? In other words, if I buy a 524X with 4 x 4TB drives (IE the RN524XD4-100NES or RN524XE4-10...
The chassis warranty isn't linked to the drive warranty. So if you change out the drives, you would still get the same chassis warranty you'd have if you'd purchased diskless.
Overall, it's generally a bit cheaper to purchase diskless, and it also allows you to choose the drives you want to use.
I agree 100% about buying diskless units (and always had previously) the price just couldn't be beat this time...
