ReadyNAS 104 - Can't connect to admin
I'm not a hardware techie and I'm new to the forum, so please be gentle.
I have a ReadyNAS 104 with a single Seagate 4tb drive. Not sure of the exact build but it was updated a month ago. Should be the latest.
I'm unable to get into the admin via the browser. https://IP/admin/
I can still access the folders and files from windows.
I have had problems before, so I don't have a lot of love for it if I'm honest. It lost the admin password and I had to rebuild it (it was empty so no biggie) but I have little confidence in it.
Sorry if this has been asked before. I did search and didn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks in advance.

- vandermerweMasterTo access the NAS, try a different browser, google chrome or Firefox.
Your firmware will not be the latest if you updated a month ago - the latest is 6.1.2, upgrade when you get access, there may be improved browser compatibility.
If you lose your password, there is no need to rebuild the NAS, you can use the password recovery tool or an OS reinstall:

Please backup the data on your NAS - partularily in your case with only one drive. - What browser are you using? What does it display when you enter https://IP/admin?
Also, are you sure the IP address is correct? - gavpoolAspirant

Firefox (default) says "problem loading page" Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at IP
IE says "This page can't be displayed".
I'm pretty sure the IP is correct, yes. It has been displayed on the front panel, and via the properties on windows.
Now I have a new problem in that the front panel has locked up and tapping the power button does nothing. - I suggest netgear support. If you purchased within 90 days, you can use the phone option. Otherwise use support.netgear.com.
- dhlewisAspirantDid you get a resolution to this? I'm having a similar problem. It's not a "lost" password. I know exactly what the password is, but, it's being rejected (Chrome, FireFox, Safari and IE). This happened before, and it happened when I tried to activate ready cloud. Totally tanked the admin section, and I cannot do any administration. Second time through, same thing. Fire up ready cloud, and admin is toast.
Having copied data off, rebuilt and reloaded because of this, I'm in no mood to do that again. I'm really hoping you found a way in.
I've had it about a month, so I'm going to RMA it, if I can't find a solution.
Cheers,

I did! Is that a conflict? (or, part of the solution?)
I'll need someone onsite to find the port # for me, if it's not the same on all. - I don't think its a conflict, but you could attempt to connect with ssh, and see if that works. The normal port is 22.
You could then attempt to reset the admin password from the command line. - dhlewisAspirant

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. I'm a bit wary, though, as I know what the password is. (Unless it got hashed.) I'm thinking that'll allow me to confirm it's a known quantity. But, ya never know! It might jiggle an electron loose, and get me going again.
I'll try it remote, but, may not be able to get over there for a day or so, if I have to use the custom port.
Cheers! - Remember that when you log in with ssh, the username is root. The default password is the admin password.
