ReadyNas 3138 as both a DLNA server and surveillance NVR

Hey there.  I'm planning on using a RN3138 as a DLNA server for a new home installation.  They will also be installing about 4 or 5 network surveillance cameras.

Is is possible to use a single readynas for both applications in one box?  Or should I use a seperate NAS for DLNA and Surveillance?

Thanks in advance.

I think you can get away with one NAS, perhaps with a separate volume for surveillance.

Are the cameras recording 24x7, or are they only recording when they detect motion (or other activity)?

Thanks!  Most likely I'll set the cameras up to record on motion.

In that case there should be no problem with performance, even if they share the same data volume.
