It's not on the official list (though you aren't under warranty support anyway if you purchased when you joined the forum).gidu wrote: My NETGEAR RND2000 V1 is full and i need to change my hard drives, (two SAMSUNG 1TB), so, is these HDD are compatible with my RND200 V1 : Western Digital Green Desktop WD20EZRX - 3.5'' SATA III IntelliPower cache 64 Mo 2 To ?
I'd get the WD20EFRX instead. I use one in my duo, and have had no problems. It's intended for NAS, and has a 3 year warranty (the EZRX only has a 1 year). - giduAspirantHi !

It's there for some of the OS6 models but not all. Its not on the list for the OS4 x86 platforms.Skywatcher wrote: And there you go. (That was fast) :D
Check the HCL.
Also, they only added the 6 TB model, not the 5 TB. - SkywatcherAspirantAnd there you go. (That was fast) :D

Are the Western Digital 6TB WD60EFRX drives currently being tested?
If not, are they going to be tested in the near future?
Then, based on past experience, once the drive testing process begins, even with issues, how long does it "usually" take for a drive to be added to the HCL.
I only recently joined NETGEAR so don't know much about our drive qualification process. I do know that we are careful to thoroughly test drives before approving them. We know that our users put important data on their NAS units (though I can't stress enough that if you store important data primarily on your NAS you should backup that data regularly - don't trust important data to just one device).
The WD RED drives are a popular choice.
Whilst personally I don't expect there to be any issues using these drives our support team can only assist with issues encountered using drives on the compatibility list. - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Yes. Though given the pain of restoring a volume of that size if it were to fail, I'd suggest using RAID-6, giving ~24 TB of space.mwilliams6275 wrote: Assuming that the RN316 can/will support the WD60EFRX, and if I end up with 6 drives configured as RAID-5, the total usable storage would be one really large volume approximately 30TB, right? - mwilliams6275Aspirantmdgm, based on your Sun Jul 27, 2014 6:19 pm reply, I'd like to know;

Currently I have an RN104 with 4 of the WD30EFRX (3TB) drives in it. But I've almost run out of space. Rather then upgrading the drives to the (currently approved) WD40EFRX (4TB), or even the WD60EFRX, whenever they are approved, I'm giving heavy consideration to purchasing an RN316, and using WD60EFRX drives in that unit.

I'm thinking of getting an RN316 and filling it with the same drives in a RAID-5.
- map71AspirantJust tried a Western Digital WD60EFRX WD 6TB Red 3.5” in the RN316 and it worked nicely, the NAS detected it, installed the OS and I could login via the web admin and copy over files which I accessed throughout the house.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWe haven't yet added any 6TB drives to the compatibility list.
I presume 6TB drives will work and if there is a software issue that will be addressed in a future firmware update.
But our support can only support using drives that have been qualified.
