- RainbowmanAspirantI just wanted to post an update to the issues I had regarding replacing 4 Seagate 750GB with 4 Seagate 1.5TB (ST31500341AS, F/W SD17 on all 4 drives) in a ReadyNAS NV+ with RAIDiator 4.1.4 in X-RAID. I had to email Seagate support and they emailed a link back on where to get the F/W update back in late January. I burned the F/W update on a bootable CD. Since, I had 4 drives to update, I had a spare computer with SATA connectors and installed one drive at a time and be sure there are no other hard drives in the computer connected while performing this F/W upgrade. This procedure alone didn't take too long which was just under 5 minutes per drive. However, as I replaced one drive at a time in the ReadyNAS, it took more than 9 hours for each drive. After replacing the last drive, it rebooted, but I was still seeing only 2.1TB, instead of 4+TB or so, but when I turned it off and turned it on again, it recognized the 4+TB.
When I checked today to see if I would still be able to d/l the F/W update from the Seagate link, I entered my model number and it said it was an affected drive, but when I entered the serial numbers, it said it didn't need updating. If this happens to anyone out there, you may need to be persistent with Seagate to get the update which has worked for me.
Thanks, Han Solo for trying to help me earlier with this issue. :D - pkansaAspirantJust installed my ReadyNAS, and I've got two items to add to the compatibility list:
Printer: HP Deskjet 940c
Router: Linksys WRT54G - dtambreAspirantJust got my ReadyNas NV+ setup. I can confirm that Cannon i560 printer works fully with the unit. May test out my older lexmark all in one in the near future as well as some UPS systems.

i just see this on compatibilty list :INCOMPATIBLE
* D-Link DGS-1008D - (reported 8/03/06 by trifin)
I've got the 1008D...
Why is it incompatible ?
edit : I want to buy a readynas Duo, i ordered 1 hour ago. - MilesTEG1AspirantHell again.
In anticipation of possible problems, I just returned the DLink DGS-1008D to the seller (online) with my right of withdrawal (I'm not sure this word has the same meaning as in french... I want to said that in france, we have the right to return a product within 7 (or 14) days without justification).
And I ordered a Netgear GS608 witch is listed on the hardware compatibility list.
I hope I will received a V2 :)
On my network, I have a DLink DIR-655 for the wireless at on the second floor (I disabled the router mode and the DHCP) and a netgear WPN824 in router mode with DHCP and for wireless on the ground floor (the walls are very large).
is there any incompatibility with the DIR-655 and with WPN824 ?
edit : this is always with the ReadyNAS Duo ;) - dbott67Guide

I have setup something very similar for my dad: NV+ with DIR-655 for wireless (no DHCP) connected to his ISP-supplied Gnet 4-port wired DSL modem/router and all works as expected.
I have a little more elaborate (but similar) setup with my DSL modem --> D-Link DGL-4500 --> Netgear GS108T GigE switch, as well as a 5-port 10/100 switch connected to the 4500 for some of my non-gigabit clients. All seems to work well. - MilesTEG1Aspirant
