ReadyNAS Duo v2 or Ultra 2 Plus or Pro 2?

OK, so at first I was looking for a simple NAS to do over network backups for both Macs (Time Machine) and PC's, and do some movie streaming. I like the ability of possibly doing more with a NAS as well, cloud storage, iTunes server, etc. I found an extremely good deal at Newegg on the ReadyNAS Pro 2 (bundle deal with 2 2TB HDD's) even much cheaper than the Ultra 2 Plus. In doing more research, I found I really like the new features (Readydrop, ReadyDLNA, and Remote Time Machine) of the Raidiator 5.3.6 available on the duo v2. I know Anandtech.com stated that Netgear states that this is coming to the x86 NAS feature set as well, but who knows, as I haven't seen anything official from Netgear eluding to that or not.

So, this brings me to the Pro 2. I can get the Pro 2 bundled with 2 2TB HDD's cheaper than the Ultra Plus 2 bundled with the same drives. I realize there are some added features on the Pro 2 model that the "prosumer" Ultra series does not have. What about the opposite though? Am I going to miss out any home features that might be more useful to me on the Ultra 2 Plus model that I wouldn't have available on the Pro model? How likely is the feature set of Raidiator 5.3.6 be implemented on the x86 NAS (as I really like those features that only seem available on the duo v2)?

As you can see, I'm confused! Right now I am leaning towards the Ultra Plus 2 because of the added "home" feature set over the duo v2, but I feel like I am missing out on the Readydrop, Remote Time Machine and ReadyDLNA. How likely is it that these features are coming to the x86 models? Or are the x86 models reaching the end of their lifecycle? What would be next? Or should I just wait entirely? But man that Pro model at a low price is tempting too, what would I be missing out on with the Pro model?

Thanks for the help!

The Pro 2 has everything the Ultra 2 Plus has plus more. Personally I'd go with the Pro 2.

I think it's just ReadyDROP which isn't on x86 (not sure). I can see Remote ReadyNAS advertising Time Machine but haven't tried backing up to a Remote NAS.

When I look at the feature comparison chart on the Netgear site there are many features that aren't even listed on the "Business NAS" comparison list like the media streaming features. I haven't had a hands on experience with either of them, and by the looks of your links in your signature you probably have. I was wondering if this was the case, as they are both x86 models, it just wouldn't make sense to me to limit the supposedly "higher end" model, but I don't know, as its geared towards business consumers as opposed to home users...

So, there would be absolutely nothing I'm missing out on by going with the Pro 2 over the Ultra 2 Plus?

How likely is it that Raidiator v5 is coming to the x86 models?

Thanks for the help...as well as the fast response!

The Business models are targeted at business users but they do still have the option to use the streaming features available on the Ultra/Ultra Plus. You'd miss nothing from the Ultra 2 Plus getting the Pro 2.

The Pro 2 is a good NAS. As to what will happen in the future we'll have to wait and see.

ok then, decision made! Pro 2 it is. I hope the x86 NAS isn't reaching the end of its lifecycle... When I see really good deals (like the one at Newegg on the Pro) sometimes I question if that is the case...
