    I’m no longer at NETGEAR.

This is a problem most commonly seen on RN100/RN2120 when updating from pre-6.4.x firmware to 6.4.x or later but it could happen on other updates too.

This is an easy problem for level 3 to attempt to fix, however as it’s a second hand unit purchasing support wouldn’t be an option.

It does need to be fixed for you to be able to use ReadyCLOUD.

The serial number isn't a factor with ReadyCloud.  The problem there was that you were running 6.1.8 firmware.  You need at least 6.8 to connect to Readcloud.  You should be able to join ReadyCloud with 6.9.x or 6.10.

There are two possibilities I know of on the serial number.  One is that you purchased beta hardware.  That shouldn't have happened, as the folks who participated in that beta were told they couldn't resell the units.  The purchase date is too late for the beta though (that happened in 2013), and the beta hardware wouldn't have been purchased anyway.  So if that info is correct, then you have a different problem.  The second possibility is that there is some issue with the EEPROM that holds the serial number.

Netgear doesn't provide support for used equipment, and you can't register used equipment either.  So there is no need to fix the serial number problem.  If the NAS is working, then just let it be.

Thankyou for your very fest answer

When the first user bought and registered the NAS it has have the firmware FW: V 6.1.8. When i bought it now it has the Version 6.9.1

I changed to 6.9.4 and afterwords to Beta 6.10.0 becouse i read, that newer firmware fix the error.

      But nothing happens.

And I cannot join with BETA 6.10.0 to ReadyCloud.

After you turn on ReadyCloud via the cloud page of the web UI, are you seeing the two green indicators for connectivity on that page?

Have you assigned the NAS a static IP address or is it using DHCP?
