RNDP6000-200EUS vs RNDP6000-200NAS
Hi
I'm getting confused - are the above basically the same model or are they different in some way?
In the UK only the "RNDP6000-200EUS" seems to be generally available...I'm hoping that this is basically the ReadyNAS Pro 6 diskless with the Intel multicore 2.8GHz processor?
Is the "EUS" bit just referring to the fact that it's for the UK or Europe perhaps?
TIA,
Jason.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI think the Pro 6 Diskless may have only appeared within the last month or two (can't remember exactly when). I do agree they should have listed it on their site by now.
The semi-populated and fully-populated Pro 6 units do have enterprise disks installed, but even then you do pay a premium for NetGear to install the disks for you. Those who have the skills and time to do it themselves would of course prefer diskless units
I guess you have to decide whether paying the stocking fee + a little extra is worth it to get 2 years extra warranty, business features and the faster CPU (Ultra 6 Plus has same CPU as Pro Business Edition had).
Edit: I think the Pro 6 Diskless was released early April or somewhere close to that. It probably became available around the time you purchased the Ultra 6 Plus. - vandermerweMasterI'm going to have to keep the Ultra 6 plus- I don't think it's worth the extra cash and hassle.
It's just not quite as future proof as the pro 6 would have been - PapaBear1Apprentice

On that I would disagree. It has the exact same firmware and will support the same disks. The only current production models that are not as future proof as the Pro 6 are the sparc based units. For example if you have bought one of the very early ReadyNAS units such as the 600A, while parts are difficult to find (out of production for about 5 years or so), it can still be upgraded to the current firmware (4.1.7 in that line) and should support the same disks as in an NV+.
The major differences are the shorter warranty, the lack of business related features and a slightly slower CPU. If you are using it as a file server and media streaming device, the latter item will not affect you at all, since it is still capable of saturating a Gigabit Network connection at it peak MB/s file transfer speed. (100+). - vandermerweMasterWell not exactly- look at the hcl. The disk compatibility list is not identical between U6P and Pro6
Media transcoding?
Perhaps future add-ons might need that little extra processing power. I don't know, that's why I would have wanted to get the fastest unit for my money. - starbuck_AspirantHi,
I want to buy a new 6 Bay ReadyNas Unit from the new Readynas Pro Family to replace my old NV+.
Is the RNDP6000-200EUS the correct type for the new Pro6 Diskless Version (2nd Gen.) in Europe ? (not the old Pro Business Edition!)
I read in the forums that
"The Pro 6 has the 2.6Ghz E5300 CPU" is this correct?
Some online stores show this CPU specification 1 x Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz (Dual-Core).
I am a bit confused now which specification is correct.
I would appreciate it if some could shed some light on this matter.
Thank you. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYes, the -200 indicates it's the second gen. I believe the CPU is the 2.6Ghz one, but it should be easy to check when you get your unit in the logs or via SSH (if you're comfortable with that)
- grtessmanAspirantMaybe this will help: http://www.netgear.com/images/ReadyNAS_ ... -13987.pdf
I haven't seen anything that said 2.8 on the 200's. Just - 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor 1 GB DDR2 DIMM
~Gary - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI believe it was initially mistakenly advertised as 2.8Ghz.
You can see a good summary of the CPUs used in various ReadyNAS models here: CPU Specs of the ReadyNAS - NetDeltaAspirantI having a hard time locating online retailers offering the -200's.
To add to the confusion, some sites will return results that are NOT exactly what you specified but fail to give the exact model number of what they are selling.
Changing model numbers simply by changing a -100 to a -100 might look good on paper, but in the real world adds to confusion.
Also, the CPU specs link has a comment that indicates that the info may not be 100% correct. Why doesn't Netgear just post a verified list?
thanks. - PapaBear1ApprenticeWhich on-line vendors are you looking at?
While I can understand European vendors not including the EUS as not all U.S. vendors include the NAS, but all should include the full model number somewhere in their specs. If they use the name Pro Business Edition or Pro Pioneer, then they are the -100 models. If they use the term Pro 6, then is is the -200 model. The -100 model ceased production before the the -200 hit the supply chain.
I just looked at three major U.S. on line retailers (Newegg, Amazon and eAegis) and all three list the full model number.
