RNR4000 (Readynas 1100) Password recovery failed using the OS install procedure
I followed the procedure to perform a password recovery by pressing and holding the reset button while powering on the system. Now the NAS is stuck in boot up saying "File System Check" in RAIDar. RAIDar shows the correct hostname, Model, and the IP address has reset to 192.168.168.168. All drive lights are green. How can I recover this system now that it will not boot? Should I perform a USB boot or TFTP boot?
What is the firmware version?
Also note that for the 1100, the default password is netgear1 if running RAIDiator 4.x or if running RAIDiator 3.x it is infrant1

So, what problems were you experiencing that led to doing the OS Re-install?
Was it just being unable to login as the admin user or were there other problems?
Do you have a backup of your data?Welcome to the Community!

We are unable to login because of unknown credentials. The previous IT guy was fired. We are unaware of any backups so I would say there are no backups. We actually have two NAS boxes and we have only tried this on one. We can't use the GUI password recovery because we don't know the email and security answer.

How long has the system been stuck on a "File system check"?
Particularly if you did an unsafe shutdown it's possible this may take a while. Is there any progress percentage showing?
