OK - so i see that it does do compression when syncing.

I didn't see anything regarding the synching of 2 boxes both ways, so i am going to assume it is only 1 way.

Replicate is more one way, acting like Backup Jobs. It does compression.

Egnyte will do two-way.

yes, replicate sync is one way.

Egnytes cloud sync may work very well for you depending on the type of files you are needing to sync.

From my minimal experiments with egnyte, I don't think it will work with databases, VM's or any other that needs real-time low-latency multiple-user simultanious access. It is also not designed to share out your entire nas, just specific portions you load into the cloud sync folder.

Office files and stuff that is mostly static but may be updated at both locations should work fine.

Johnny on the egnyte subforum can probably help if you have some specific needs or situations you need answers about.

dtwarfield, the Egnyte addon on your ReadyNAS allows bi-directional synchronization between multiple devices. Egnyte continuously syncs data between devices through our cloud file server.
