using the HDD from the Readynas Duo in a USB enclosure
I know there is a FAQ about using the ReadyNAS drives in another machine but is there a simpler way?
I have read about http://www.chrysocome.net/explore2fs but have not tried this and besides can I re-format the drive outside of the ReadyNAS to use with Windows?
Will a LINUX session in ORACLES virtual box read /format the drive?
What about a thin client running linux - could that do the above?

- PapaBear1ApprenticeIf you are not concerned about the data, the drive can be connected to a Windows machine and formatted in the NTSF format. I have several older smaller drives retired from ReadyNAS use in use as spare Windows drives.
If you want to read the data outside the ReadyNAS box, or want to use it on an Linux system, then I will allow others to comment.
